Severus Snape's POV

I can still see her in my tainted and mildewed mind's eye. Beautiful silver blonde hair that shone like moonlight gracing her ivory velvet skin. Steel blue eyes that could cut you to ribbons and pouty heart shaped lips painted a dusty rose. Her smile was even brighter then a lighted wand and she could turn anyone's head. Only Lucius had claimed her, even when she didn't want to be.

"Professor?" Draco knocked, walking into my cold, drafty office. His father's grey, silver eyes mocking as the young Slytherin sat down.

"Yes Draco?" I closed my grade book and folded my hands over it.

"I was wondering if I could borrow the key to your potions closet, I wanted to do an extra credit project on the subject of healing draughts for my medi class," Draco explained, I shrugged and opened up my desk to take out the key.

Draco had definitely inherited his mother's brains. Her thirst for knowledge was well known. She also had a knack for potions so she was frequently paired with me. Draco's eyes lighted on the key as I brought it up from my drawer. It was an ancient looking key with only three small indents at the very end but it was the only key that could be inserted into the lock.

"Bring it back tomorrow before class, I'll be retiring to my rooms early tonight," I say, handing the brass key over, he took it. His hand slender and soft, Draco stood and smiled slightly.

"Good night then Professor," Draco said and walked out.

Narcissa insisted that I would be Draco's godfather, so the boy sometimes went to my summerhouse to get lessons before entering Hogwarts. I had a suspicion they sent him to me when something big was going on within the inner circle of the Death Eaters.

I sighed and gathered up some of my things to take back to my rooms. Narcissa was perfect in every sense of the word. She was also a year older then I. Lucius was two years older then her. The Marauders were unfortunately in the same year as I. The only one I really got to know was Lupin because he came to me for the werewolf potion when Dumbledore took over as head master in our last year. I was already a Death Eater; everything for me was over. See it all started in my Fourth year...

"Sev? Severus?" Narcissa's voice rang up the boy's side of the dormitories.

"Yes?" I called back, getting up from my bed where I was studying up on something.

"I really need to talk to you about this potion. Please, I need it for my medi class," Narcissa explained rather loudly as I made my way down the stairs. I knew something was going on. Lucius was in his own room and she didn't have to yell so loudly.

"Well let's go then to the potion's classroom," I say, smiling at her reassuringly. We walked through the dungeon halls until we arrived at the classroom.

"This is really important," Narcissa said, her blue eyes shifting to the dark corners before we entered the room. I looked over at her before shutting the door behind us and putting a distraction charm on it.

"What's wrong?" I ask, walking over to her.

"It's Lucius, I think he's a Death Eater," Narcissa whispered. Voldemort had gone through Hogwarts already and was gathering his followers. Slytherin at that time was the only house who really knew about it.

"Are you sure?" I asked, putting my hands on her shoulders, she lifted her desperate eyes to mine, searching through them to my soul.

"He is, you have to do something...maybe if you become one then you can tell me what's going on. Lucius won't tell me and it's dangerous not to know Severus please. You have to help me," Narcissa begged. I could never say no to her, not even if it meant going through large amounts of pain.

"I'll do this for you, Narcissa but remember, only for you," I say, a beautiful smile spread over her face and she kissed my cheek.

"You won't regret this, Sev," Narcissa said in my ear before turning to a table, to start a potion. Of course I would never regret anything with Narcissa but I do regret doing a lot of things for Voldemort. He put me through the most painful test of love a man could go through and he never knew it. I was a spy for Narcissa first but that is gone now...

"What do you mean, married?" I asked, stunned, Narcissa looked away from me.

"Married. It is not my choice, Severus," Narcissa said softly.

"How can it be not your choice? All you have to say is Lucius Malfoy, I can not marry you because I don't want to, simple," I said but I knew what was going on.

"It's not that simple!" Narcissa almost yelled, stamping her foot. "Don't you see? My family would kill me if I refused. I would have no money, no future. Everything I have built would have been for nothing. You being a Death Eater would have been for nothing," Narcissa explained desperately. I just stood there watching this beautiful angel, this perfect ethereal being slowly crumble into the dark side of life. Her ambitions, her Slytherin side had finally caught up with her. Her only last saving grace was naming me godfather to her only son...

"Severus? Can I talk to you?" Narcissa asked as she sat Draco down on my couch. She pulled me into the kitchen and closed the door.

"Sev, I know you're wondering why I would name you godfather of Draco." Narcissa glanced at the door.

"Actually I was wondering, just a little," I say almost bitterly.

"Because there is still a small part of me that is good, that wants Draco to have a chance to escape my fate. That...that same part of me still loves you, Severus-" she was cut off by my kiss. We stood there for a while; passionately kissing before she finally pulled back.

"We can't do this...Lucius would kill me and Draco would be lost. Severus, please help him. Lucius plans on making him a monster and I can't let that happen, promise me, please?" Narcissa almost begged as I looked to the door.

"I'll try," I returned, she smiled and hugged me then turned and walked out the door to tend to her son.

"Professor Snape?" Draco asked, I was standing outside my classroom like usual in the mornings. This time I wasn't paying much attention to the students moving around me.

"Yes Draco?" I looked down on the 16-year-old, well, not really looked down.

"Here's your key, I wanted to give it to you now then later," Draco explained and started to leave.

"Draco, I want to tell you once again that you can tell me anything and it will never leave just us two," I say, he smiled slowly.

"I know, thank you." Draco then turned and walked off to breakfast.
