Oliver's Girl

Serenity slept in 'til eight o'clock the next morning. Well, she would've slept in later, but Parvati and Lavender's giggling woke her up.

"What are you two bubbleheads up to?" she asked grumpily.

"Somebody left you a letter..." Parvati said.

Lavender added, "But we wouldn't know that it's from... oh, say... Oliver?"

Serenity sat up. "Where?"

They pointed to her nightstand. She snatched it up. Parvati and Lavender left with a few giggles and Ren was left to read her letter.

"Serenity. I hope you slept well. Where were you last night? I saw you run up to your room, but I didn't see you after that. I hope to see you tonight. We need to talk. Oliver." Serenity folded up the parchment and sat it back on her nightstand. She wasn't going to reply. She rolled over and checked the time on the clock on the wall. She moaned. Well at least it was late enough to head to the shower and not run into Oliver. She climbed out of bed, picked up her things, and put on her slippers to head out to the seventh floor hall.

At lunch

Serenity took a seat between Fred and George. She looked down the table on the right and saw something that made her turn slightly pink. Katie was sitting directly next to Oliver. They were talking and she even lightly touched his arm a few times. They were laughing and smiling... and then Katie flipped her hair. She grew red just watching them. Part of her was mad and the other part was jealous.

"Ren?"

She looked up. It was Fred.

"Uh...you look like you just got slapped in the face by a Gryndilow."

She laughed nervously and turned back to her food.

She picked up her fork and moved the bacon around her plat. She sighed and tried to listen to Fred and George's conversation with Lee, but her mind seemed to be elsewhere. A hand lightly grabbed her shoulder.

"You shouldn't play with your food," Oliver said.

Serenity smiled weakly. "Not bad advice."

He looked around and leaned in closer. "Can we talk?" he whispered.

She gulped and nodded.

He guided her out of the Great Hall and to the Grand Stairs. They sat down.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"Nothing."

He sighed. "Then why weren't you at the party? Why did you avoid me all day yesterday and in class today?"

"I didn't. I was just... busy. Studying."

Oliver looked at her. He reached out and stroked her face. "If something's wrong, you can tell me."

She sighed and looked at her feet. "I heard you and Katie talking, yesterday morning. I heard her... asking you if you were sure that you didn't want her back." She cleared her throat and continued. "And... she said that maybe she could change your mind." She sniffed. "So I figured that since you'd been talking and hanging around each other a lot..."

Oliver laughed. "That she'd changed my mind?"

"Yes."

He chuckled. "Why are you getting so worked up about this? You're still on the Quidditch team."

Serenity gave him a confused look. "Qui... Quidditch team?"

Now he was the one confused. "Well, yeah. What did you think we were talking about?"

She turned bright red, but couldn't keep herself from smiling. "I thought..."

"That we were talking about... a relationship?" he finished, laughing.

She smiled sheepishly. "Y...Yeah."

They laughed together for a few minutes. It finally wore off and Oliver suggested an idea.

"Hey, let's go for a walk."

"Alright."

They joined hands and walked down the hall to the front doors. They walked out and turned the corner. Oliver stopped walking and pulled Ren around to face him.

"You know no one could ever replace you," he said, pulling her closer.

She smiled teasingly. "In Quidditch?"

"In more than Quidditch. You know what I mean."

He pulled her close and kissed her, begging her to respond. She wrapped her arms around his neck and deepened the kiss. They broke apart and just looked each other in the eyes. She wished it could've lasted forever.

Unfortunately, some people didn't believe in privacy. Fred fell out of the tree a few feet away and looked at the couple, still in each other's arms.

"Go, Serenity!" he yelled, waving at the two.

George climbed down from his perch. "Yeah! You go girl!"

Serenity mentally kicked herself. I knew I shouldn't have taught him any American slang. The twins smirked at their friend who was now blushing madly as to be caught with her boyfriend.

Oliver looked slightly disappointed, but whispered in Serenity's ear, "We'll finish tonight where we left off."

They broke apart and headed towards the doors.

Fred hit Oliver's arm teasingly. "Quite the ladies' man are we?"

Oliver just smirked and headed inside.
