Part Six:

Lucius sat up in bed, looking around the dark room as his eyes adjusted to the lack of light. The room was occasionally lit with a flash of lightning, but Lucius was sure that it wasn't the raging storm that had awoken him. He barely ever slept, even on the most peaceful nights following the most exhausting days. He usually maxed out at four hours of sleep a night.

He looked down at the girl lying beside him, and a flash of lightning lit up her porcelein skin. Lucius smiled, gently brushing a strand of red hair out of her face. She stirred and turned over with a soft moan. Lucius turned away from her, grabbing his gold chain watch from the bedside table. By squinting slightly, he could read that the time was three in the morning. With a sigh, Lucius climbed out of bed, put on his house slippers, and went quietly out of the room.

Through the dark, silent house he went. He made treks through the manor like this on most nights, but it always seemed strange to him that the big, old house could be this quiet. Usually, there were house elves bustling about, hastily completing their many chores. And, not-so-long ago, young Draco had been running around playing in these very halls. It felt like a long time to Lucius, and he ran a hand through his long, silver-blonde hair...wondering when it would be just silver.

He went down the stairs and turned down the hall. He didn't even have to think about where he was going...he was heading to his study. The room, all furnished in evergreens and silvers, used to be his favorite room in the manor. But he'd been neglecting it since he took Virginia in. He stepped into the huge room, and the candles automaticly lit up, as though they'd been anticipating him. He took a seat in his favorite green, dragon hide armchair, putting his feet up with a sigh. He sat back and closed his eyes, allowing his thoughts to wander back to the bedroom, back to the red-haired prisoner, the virgin maiden...and his head snapped up.

I have to have her, he thought. Now! He was about to jump up and rush downstairs, but something made him stop. He thought about the details of the room: the black silk sheets, the dull gold of the huge, almost foreboding fireplace, just how dark the entire room was. Certainly not the right place for a young girl to lose her virginity, he thought suddenly.

He leaned back in his chair again, remembering something he'd read a while back. It was about some culture where the husband would build a small honeymoon hut for his wife, and take her there to lose her virginity. The thought of it made him tremble with excitement. Yes, he thought, rising. That's what I'll do. Build her a hut, a tent. A beautiful place...

He sat at his desk, designing a hut. He tried to remember what the one described in his readings looked like. The end result was a simple tent fashioned out of white sheets. Magic can do anything, he thought with a smirk, carefully folding up his plans. He would have the house elves work on it that day and the next.

Tomorrow night, he thought, as he wandered through the dark halls once again. She will finally be mine.

When Lucius re-entered the bedroom, he was surprised to find the bed empty. A crack of light came from under the bathroom door, and Lucius sat on the bed to wait for Virginia to come out. When she did, she glanced at him. She didn't seem surprised to see him...it seemed that nothing surprised her now. "You're back," she said simply, approaching the bed.

Lucius seized her waist in his hands, pulling her to him. He kissed her lips hungrily, but she pulled away quickly. As Lucius looked into Virginia's brown eyes, and her half-annoyed, half-fearful face, he remembered: she didn't like to be kissed on the lips.

Lucius stroked her pale cheek with gentle fingers. "Come back to bed, my pet."

"Yes, Lucius." He pulled her onto the bed, and pulled the covers over them. He had his arms wrapped protectivly around her torso, holding her close and burying his face in her neck.

"Do you ever sleep?" Virginia whispered into the darkness. Lucius felt an unfamiliar feeling run through his body as she ran her hands through his hair.

"No," he lied, smiling to himself. "I stay awake all night and watch you."

Virginia said nothing, but removed her hands from his hair. I've made her uncomfortable, he thought, amused. He longed to strip her naked and take her right then, but...Tomorrow night, he promised himself. Soon.

He was nearly asleep, when he heard a noise that made his blood run cold. Virginia's breathing began to pick up a little, and then he heard her whisper. Though it was very soft, it was unmistakable what she'd uttered.

"Harry."

Lucius's head snapped up, and Virginia's eyes flew open. She looked up at him in surprise. "Lucius? What's the matter."

"You...you..." Lucius felt his fingers itching to hurt her. The fear in her eyes at his anger wasn't enough, it didn't satisfy him anymore. He needed to hurt her, as much as she'd just hurt him. She loved that damn Potter.

His fingers wrapped around her neck, and he squeezed. "You little bitch," he hissed, tightening his grip. "You cheating little whore."

"No, please..." Virginia managed, before Lucius tightened his grip on her again. She clawed in desperation at his hands, but he couldn't feel the sting of her long nails. He relished at the pain and fear in her eyes, wanting to squeeze the life out of her, make her suffer. Punish her for this crime, this sin, of loving someone other then him.

But he got ahold of himself and let go. Virginia's head bounced back onto the pillows, and she let out a sob of pain. Lucius felt annoyed. "Shut up," he hissed, before climbing out of bed. "You deserved it."

"Lucius," she whispered through her sobs. But Lucius ignored her, going into the bathroom. The room lit up, and Lucius went to the huge mirrors. He stared at the man in them: blood-shot, wild eyes, with purple bags beneath them. Pale face, bloodless lips. His hair was a mass of silver around his head. And, he noticed his hands: Virginia's nails had cut into them, and they were covered in blood. He winced in pain as he put them under running water, watching his blood swirl down the sink. When his wounds were clean, he stared at the tiny cuts. Potions could make them go away. Potions could also bring some color back into his face, and make him look less tired.

But nothing he could do would make the memories of that evening fade from his mind. He did not regret hurting Virginia. He would've regretted it if he'd killed her, but he'd stopped soon enough. What upset him was that he didn't completly own her. He couldn't make her open her mind to him, and she was always silent and cold with him. And he certainly didn't have her heart...that belonged to that basturd, Potter, Lucius thought bitterly.

At least I will have her body, he told himself, but the excitement he'd so recently felt at taking her was faded. But it seemed that, for now, it would have to do. It won't be long, he told himself. I will have her very soon. And not tomorrow night...I cannot wait.

I shall have her tonight.
