Lucius watched as Virginia grew stronger over the next few days. She allowed him to care for her, and was following his commands. She ate all of her food, and drank her potions. She even allowed him to touch her as they lay in bed together at night, but she trembled in fear. Touching her soft, pale skin sent tingles through Lucius's body. He would watch her sleep with linen sheets tucked around her, the moonlight from the large windows casting shadows on her lovely face. And Lucius would bend down and kiss her again.

She didn't allow him to kiss her when she was aware of it. This annoyed Lucius, but it was something he knew he'd overcome. After all, she belonged to him now. His little pet. His virgin maiden. She didn't know how much she belonged to him, until one morning.

He didn't allow her to leave the room yet, and only allowed her to wear Draco's old silk pajamas. She took long baths in the huge bathroom (modeled after the prefect bathroom at Hogwarts). Lucius brought her all her meals on trays, not even allowing the house elves into the room to see her. He was very protective of his prize.

That morning, he brought her breakfast, as usual. She was sitting in the large bed, staring out the window. She barely glanced at him when he entered the room, until he sat down next to her in bed. "Eat up, Virginia."

"Yes, Mr. Malfoy," she murmured obediently.

Lucius felt a twinge of annoyance at the formal greeting. He didn't want the girl to call her 'Mr. Malfoy', and certainly not 'Master'. "My pet, call me 'Lucius'."

"Yes, Lucius." He watched carefully as she used her fork to play with her eggs, rarely taking a bite. Finally, he cleared his throat and she looked at him. Her eyes were glazed, and he knew her mind was far from the room.

"What are you thinking about, my pet?"

"Nothing, Mr. M-Lucius."

Lucius eyed her suspiciously. "Tell me what you're thinking about," he commanded. He never raised his voice, but he got his point across. He knew that the girl feared him, as did many other people and his house elves.

Virginia turned away and looked out the window for a moment. Then she turned back to him. He stared into her large, brown eyes, and knew that she was making an effort not to break the stare. "I...want to go home."

Lucius smirked. "My pet, you are home."

"No," she said, her voice surprisingly forceful. "No, this isn't my home. My home is..." She stopped, not wanting to give away the headquarters of the Order, he suspected. Like they didn't already know that it was number twelve, Grimmauld Place, thanks to Kretcher. They had no hope of ever getting in, anyway. She sighed. "My home is with my family."

"I see," Lucius said slowly. He looked down at her tray of barely touched food for a moment. She probably doesn't get this well fed at home, he thought. Those damn Weasleys are so poor, she probably gets crumbs to eat for breakfast. "And, with Harry Potter, perhaps?"

There was a silence, and Lucius looked back up at Virginia. He had her, he knew. He'd struck a chord. "What's wrong, my pet? Miss your little boyfriend?" She didn't say anything, just squirmed in anger and embarrassment. Her pale, freckled face was turning pink. "Why hasn't he ever had sex with you, Virginia? Is the Golden Boy afraid? Or is he-"

"Shut up," she muttered, and Lucius stopped, his grin fading from his face.

"Don't speak to me that way, Virginia," he said icily. "Remember, that you are my prisoner. I saved your life, and I could just as easily send you back to the dungeons, in chains. So, watch your sweet little mouth." He touched her lips with a gentle finger, but she pulled away. She looked like she wanted to bite him.

"What do you want with me?" she demanded angrily. "Why didn't you kill me that night? Why did you save my life? Tell me!"

Lucius remained calm as she began to rage. "Now, now, my pet," he said soothingly. "No need to get upset. I will tell you everything, as soon as you eat your breakfast."

"But-"

"Every bite. Or I say nothing."

Lucius watched as the girl, trembling with anger, picked up her fork and ate. Every swallow seemed an effort, and it was almost painful to watch. Finally, she gulped down the last drops of her orange juice. Lucius pulled out his wand, and with a quick wave, the tray and dirty dishes were gone, back in the kitchen.

"Okay," she said impatiently. "I've eaten."

"I see that."

"Well? What am I still doing here? You said you'd tell me!"

"And I intend to," Lucius said calmly. "I plan on keeping you here, Virginia. As my pet. As my slave. I already told you that I would have you, and I will." Lucius took a moment to examine her eyes again. Wide and filled with fear. Satisfied, he continued. "There's nothing you can do to escape."

"What did you do with my wand?" she asked, fearful.

"Your wand wouldn't be able to help you," he said simply. "But, if you must know, I've destroyed it. You won't be needing it anymore."

"Why won't it be able to help me?" she whispered.

Lucius stroked her cheek and smiled a little before continuing. "Virginia, do you remember what I said the other night? That you owe me, for saving your life?" When the girl nodded, he continued. "Then you must know that when one magical person saves another's life, that person is at their mercy. As in, you are at my mercy." She looked confused, so Lucius continued. "I can get whatever I want from you. I could use you for very valuable information, and you'd have no choice but to give it to me. Don't you know that your precious boyfriend used a spell like that? He had saved Pettigrew's life, and that's how he managed to kill my master."

At the mention of her boyfriend, the girl looked away. Lucius smirked to himself before continuing. "But, I've found another, more interesting use for you, my pet." Virginia looked at him again, silently asking what that use was. "I've already gotten what I wanted. You. For my own. Forever."

"What do you mean?"

"Virginia, you can never leave me," Lucius said, and her eyes, if possible, got even wider then they'd already been. "You need me. No amount of chains or locks could keep you here better then this spell. Without me, you would die." Lucius smiled in satisfaction as tears filled her large, brown eyes. "You have no choice but to stay. Not that I'll be letting you leave."

"My family," she managed softly. "They'll find me, they'll-"

Lucius laughed softly. "Do you think it's so easy to get into Malfoy Manor? I lifted all of my secruity spells to allow you in. A trap, you see. But now, this place is impenetrable."

"Like Hogwarts," she whispered, understanding.

Lucius stroked her cheek. "Yes, my pet."

She squirmed away from him. "No," she whispered angrily. "No! I'll get away, you can't keep me here, I'll-"

"Virginia, hush!" Lucius snapped in annoyance. The girl stopped her ramblings and looked down at the linen sheets again. Lucius stood up. "If you don't calm yourself, I shall have to curse you. You don't want that, do you?"

The girl looked up at him, her eyes full of tears and hate. "I wish you'd kill me."

Lucius smiled at her and left the room. He locked the doors behind him, and stood, with his ear against them, to listen. He could hear, faintly, the sound of the girl sobbing defeatedly into her pillows.
