I wanna make you smile

Whenever you're sad

Carry you around when your arthritis is bad

All I wanna do is grow old with you...

"It's Ginny's birthday!" yelled Harry.

"So what are you going to do about it?" Hermione said eyeing him with a malicious look on her face.

"Don't look at me like that! It's making me more nervous!"

"Nervous about what? It's not like your asking her to marry you!" said Ron a month after permitting Harry to court his sister. Unfortunately, Harry didn't say anything about it to Ginny. He said he was looking for the right time to tell her.

"But it feels like I am! Even though I'm just telling her that I like her!" said Harry with a little bit of shudder.

"Don't get all too panicky! You make me nervous too! Just tell her that you like her, that's all, and you'd be fine," said Hermione.

"Okay! Okay! You've been bugging me about this for a whole month. I'll make plans for tonight then I'll say it to her," said Harry, still feeling fluttery inside.

I'll get you medicine when your tummy aches

Build you fire if the furnace breaks

So, it could be so nice growing old with you...

As they were walking along the corridors, they suddenly saw Ginny walking alone. Oh no! Harry thought. With a lightning speed, Ron jumped sideways to hide behind a knight's armor while Hermione ran quietly to the nearest classroom and left the door slightly shut to hear their conversation.

Harry, getting all stiff, didn't actually know what to do. What if she's too busy tonight? What if she declines? What if she's in love with somebody else? What if...

"Are you alright?" said Ginny, tilting her head with confusion.

"Hu-Huh? Umm...yeah! I-I'm alright," Harry said, forcing a smile but all that came was a nervous one and for sure, he looks stupid.

"O-kay...good bye then," said Ginny as she walks pass him.

With a sudden courage that snapped him, he turned around, seized Ginny's hand without hurting her and spun her around to face him.

"Wouldyoubewillingtohavealittlemidnightsnackwithmetonight?"

"Could you slow down a little because I can't make up a single word in what you've said?"

Repeating slowly, Harry said, "Would you be willing to have a little midnight snack with me tonight?"

"Oh! Umm...okay. That would be nice," Ginny said, blushing.

"Really?!!!" Harry lighting up.

"Really. I'll see you then...tonight." Ginny twirled around making her hair slightly brush Harry's cheek making him want to melt.

When she was gone, Ron and Hermione jumped from where they were hiding, yelling, "Yes! Yes! Yes!"

"Well, I did it, I've invited her. Too much nerve wracking for the first part of the plan," Harry said with a broad smile on his face.

" Yup! You did it alright! But don't celebrate yet because you have to plan for tonight," warned Hermione.

"Oh no!" yelled Ron.

"What???" chorused Harry and Hermione.

"You stupid git!" turning to Harry.

"What?? Why??" Harry said, confused.

"You didn't greet her a happy birthday!"

I'll miss you

Kiss you

Give you my coat when you are cold

Need you

Feed you

Even let you hold the remote control...

Harry was planning for the whole afternoon. He wanted it to be perfect. He went to the kitchens and requested Dobby to bring a little midnight snack and a couple of butterbeers to the Gryffindor common room at midnight. Dobby hesitated at first saying it was against the rules but after a while of persuasion, Dobby gave up and agreed. He'll do it because Harry did a great thing for him.

Night came so quickly and as every minute ticked by, Harry's stomach was getting fluttier and fluttier. He didn't even have an appetite to eat dinner.

"You'll be alright, Harry," said Ron, getting a serving spoon full of mashed potato.

"Don't get too nervous," said Hermione.

Harry didn't say anything in response, he just forked his meal and not eating anything.

" It's okay not to reply, Harry, we understand," Hermione said, feeling a bit concerned.

They went through their dinner in silence, hoping that tonight would turn out great.

So let me do the dishes in the kitchen sink

Put you to bed when you've had too much to drink...

The Gryffindor common room was deserted. Everyone went to their dormitory for a good night's sleep including Ron and Hermione who left him with a little encouragement talk.

Now, Harry and Ginny were the only one's who were left. Ginny was so busy, she didn't notice that Harry was in the room.

Where's Dobby?? Screamed Harry in his head. I can't start without the food and I'm getting hungry! Harry was getting panicky. I think I'll go say something to her to start it all off.

He was slowly approaching her from behind and as he leaned to say something in her ear, he smelled her hair. It smelled like cinnamon that makes him want her badly. He straightened up to prevent himself from hugging her. I need to get this over with! In the count of three, I'll say hi, one...two...

Suddenly, the portrait hole opened. Harry leaped backwards and Ginny looked up to see who's opening the portrait. It was Dobby, followed closely by two more elves. One was carrying a tray full of snacks, from tarts to chocolates. The other one was also carrying a tray but it had about ten butterbeers clinking with each other.

Dobby led the elves to the table in front of the fireplace. They placed the trays on the table and walked straight to the portrait hole leaving Dobby who bowed then smiled at them, not uttering a single word.

Harry nervously glanced at Ginny who was following Dobby with her look of interest as the elf left the room.

"You really planned for this, huh?" said Ginny.

Harry's heart skipped. "I...um...uh..."

"Thank you." Ginny said, smiling up at him.

Harry smiled back at her. "Shall we?" He reached for her hand and escorted her to the couch where they sat and not saying anything to one another.

Silence was broken off when, "Let's eat! I'm hungry!" exclaimed Ginny, snatching up a tart and biting into it. Harry just smiled and also went for a tart.

After an hour of stories, secrets and laughter, Harry realized that he hadn't said anything to Ginny about his feelings. The time's running out, they're getting sleepy and Ginny was drinking a lot of butterbeer.

I must tell her now! But as Harry was about to tell her, Ginny suddenly spoke, "Harry?"

"Hmm?"

"I need to tell you something," Ginny said as she placed the butterbeer on the table.

"What is it?" said Harry, figuring out what she'll say.

"I..." Ginny's voice trailed off and her head suddenly found its place - Harry's shoulder. Right then and there, she was sound asleep.

Oh no! I didn't say anything to her!

Feeling a little bit disappointed, he carried Ginny to her dormitory. Being careful not to wake anybody, he laid her on her bed and blanketed her.

Harry sat beside her and stroked her hair as if treating her like his own. He kissed her on the forehead and saying, "I love you, Ginny Weasley."

Finally, he kissed her gently on the lips.

Oh I could be the man that grows old with you

I wanna grow old with you
