Author's Note:
This is the first femmeslash I have ever written, but I will probably write more. I'm liking it even better by the second. Be afraid! Many thanks to my betas, you know who you are. Now read. Enjoy. That's an order!

Luna moved slowly towards the girls' bathroom, carefully reading each article of the Quibbler as she walked. Her father had just released the latest edition and there were some pretty interesting stories in it. She had never heard about the Giant Frog of the Amazonas before. Nor had she known that a simple orange could cure 306 diseases and make you invisible, all through the use of one recipe (that was unfortunately not included in the article). Her father was a genius! How did he find out about all these things?

She was planning ways to get into the Restricted Section (the article had said something about a thousand ways the potion could go wrong, and with dire consequences; the Restricted Section was the only place you'd find those potions) and find that recipe as she entered the bathroom, and did not notice right away that someone else was there. This, however, was impossible to ignore for very long, as that particular person was not in a very good mood that day. Someone was crying very loudly, making it very hard to focus on anything else. She cleared her throat loudly. The sobbing continued. She cleared her throat again and spoke.

'Who's there?'

It suddenly became very quiet. One of the cubicles opened and someone stepped out. It was Ginny Weasley.

'Oh, Luna, it's you,' she said, tears streaming down her face. Luna sighed and gave Ginny a very meaningful look.

'Yes, it's me. Luna Lovegood. What's wrong?' She felt that Ginny would have told her what was wrong anyway, and she wanted to get it over with, so that she could return to the Quibbler as soon as possible.

'It's just... No, I won't bother you with it.' Ginny said, but before Luna had even opened her mouth to respond, Ginny continued. 'It's Seamus Finnegan, he keeps ignoring me. I've been trying to get his attention for weeks, but he just acts as if I don't exist. And today he asked me...' Ginny faltered, and started sobbing again. Luna moved towards her and placed one arm around her shoulders; that would probably provide some comfort.

'I'm your friend, Ginny Weasley.' Ginny smiled weakly, wiped her tears and continued.

'He asked me why I was following him around everywhere, as if he didn't know. And he did it in the Common Room too! Everyone heard.' Again, she started sobbing. Luna found this incredibly annoying. In an effort to calm her friend, she started pulled her close, holding her tight.

'Ginny Weasley, it was just a boy. He is stupid.'

'But it's Seamus, and he thinks I'm ugly. I am ugly.' Ginny sobbed even louder, tears threatening to flood the bathroom. Luna realised she had to calm her friend, or they would all drown.

'You're not ugly, you're beautiful. Everyone loves you.'

'Seamus doesn't.'

'Forget about Seamus, there are plenty of fish in the sea. They have even sighted a twenty foot eel by the Bermuda Triangle, wouldn't that be something?' Ginny smiled again, though the tears continued streaming down.

'Thanks Luna, at least you're trying. It doesn't change the truth, however.'

'Boys are idiots, we don't need them,' she declared. Ginny opened her mouth to speak, but before she could react, Luna had turned her around so that they were face to face and leaned forward, pressing her lips firmly against Ginny's.

'Mmph ...' Ginny choked, but Luna didn't let her move. She gripped Ginny's hair, entangling her fingers in it. Her lips parted slightly, to allow her tongue to move into Ginny's mouth, which was still opened in shock.

Ginny tried to push away. This was insane, this was madness. She was kissing a girl! Luna's grip was firm though, and she only ended up being dragged even closer to her. Their bodies were so close she could feel Luna's heartbeat; she noticed every little move she made. Luna was a very good kisser, Ginny silently noted.

Ginny was sitting very uncomfortably, and she tried to move into a better position. Failing to find a good place to sit on the cold stone floor, she simply leaned backwards until she was lying down, Luna on top of her. Wait, this wasn't right, was it? And since when had she been answering the kiss? Ginny noticed that her hands were sliding down Luna's back, moving underneath her jumper, and she noticed with a start that she thought it felt rather nice.

Ginny seemed to have calmed down, but Luna didn't stop. It wasn't every day she was allowed to kiss a girl this beautiful. In fact, this was the first time. She closed her eyes, sighing dreamily against Ginny's mouth. But wait... yes... that was it. That was how she could get into the restricted section. Without forewarning, Luna suddenly jumped into the air, running out of the bathroom, leaving Ginny lying on her back, breathing harshly.

'Unbelievable,' she whispered to herself. But then again, everything about Luna was.
