Author's Note:
I got the idea for this fic from the song of an Indian movie I was watching, and the tragedy of it struck me. It will be sighted at the end of the chapter.

She was more than exhausted, and in her heart, she knew she was too late, but she had to find him. She was limping, and it felt as though something was lodged inside her side, but it didn't matter.

All that mattered was finding him.

She stepped over mangled corpses, glancing at the pain-stricken faces of the dead, only long enough to know that they didn't belong to him.

Finally, she came across a body. It belonged to him at one time. He looked peaceful, for a change. He didn't seem to have the weight of the world on his shoulders like he usually did. It seemed he was in a peaceful sleep, dreaming a dream of perfect happiness.

She had expected that his body would have stood out from all the others. She thought there would have been a special Dark Mark over it, or, that it would have been placed somewhere special. Looking around, she wondered who, other than herself, would have placed it anywhere other than where it had fallen.

Her legs gave way and she collapsed next to his body. She pulled it toward her and rested the head in her lap, stroking his hair. She had always loved his hair, no matter what anyone else said about it.

People say that there is a pain that takes you beyond crying. They lie. Some people were just born to not cry. She wasn't one of them. Tears streamed down her face, and as she gasped for breath, she made a shrieking sound. Her tears landed on his face, wetting the dirt and mud clinging to it. She used her sleeve to try and clean some of the filth away, though her robes were hardly clean themselves.

There would be no happiness now. Everyone she loved was gone, and the other side had won. She would probably be tortured, murdered, or enslaved. She hoped she would be killed.

She had always loved him, but he had never known just how much.

Although he would never know now, she could tell his body. She didn't believe in an afterlife like he did, so in her opinion, he truly was gone, forever, never to return in any form. It would have been nice to be able to believe in that sort of thing, but she lacked the one important thing- belief. She knew it was stupid to sit and speak to a corpse, but she had to do it.

"It was you I loved, even when I was with other boys, I though only of you. From the moment I laid eyes on you, I knew I would love you forever. People made fun of me, thinking it was just some celebrity crush, especially when I was a child. I worshipped you. I longed for you as no one has ever longed for anyone else, nor will they ever.

"Now you are gone, my life is empty, meaningless. You were my meaning, the reason my heart beats, and you've left me. I have so few memories of us being together, but the ones we have are carved in my heart and in my mind, never leaving me. They will haunt me until I die, and I will never forget you. How can I walk away from you here, when there is nothing and no one for me to go to? My heart isn't broken by your death, it's empty. You took all the space inside, and then left it to satisfy your new mistress, Death.

"You always wasted so much time in realizing your feelings. First with Cho, then with me, and then it was over so soon. You wanted to protect me. Didn't you know I'd rather be dead then without you? Didn't you know that my life is nothing without you? Didn't you?! I hate you for leaving me! What did I do to earn this fate? All I did was love you."

Harry's soul heard her words from some far off place, and he was instantly at her side. He whispered in her ear, "I love you too. I'll be waiting for you, Ginny."

Author notes: The song this was taken from is titled "Hamesha Tumko Chaaha", which is Hindi for "I always loved you". I heard it first when watching the Indian movie "Devdas". The lyrics in both Hindi and English can be found at
