Malfoy's Mistake

Chapter One: An Introduction

Hello there. Let me introduce myself. My full and Christian name is Deirdre Eudoxia Marbelle, but most only know me as Deirdre, and at best, Deirdre Marbelle. Let me start out by saying that this is my story and I have kept it to myself for years. And years can rack up on you when you are an immortal. But what I've come to find is that the name of a person is not that important, but the memory in which the name invokes in you is. And you, reader, do not know anything about me. I suppose that is for the best, better to be starting out with a clean slate. However if you have heard of me, you know me as the Vampire who befriended Draco Malfoy and used her charms to destroy much of the common wizarding world, to demolish all that was of Voldemort's supporters, who threw the world in a frenzy when she brought into the light all the secrets of Dark Magic and those who support it. You should also know me as the one who, despite also being the one who killed much of the Death Eaters, threw the Order of the Phoenix into a frenzy, and by God destroyed it and all of their followers. How, you may ask, did I accomplish such things? How did one Vampire bring down a whole society? My answer to the is you can do whatever you want when you're me, because if you are you possess powers that Voldemort and Harry Potter himself have only dreamed of, and still do not know the extent of your skills. If you are, you have beauty and charms to rival Veelas', and you are known as Draco Malfoy's biggest mistake.

Now that we have become acquainted, I will describe to you my appearance. I stand about 5'4, I have long, flowing, gleaming black hair that spills over my shoulder and the ends tickle my waist. I have deathly pale skin and glassy fingernails, the main side effect of being an Immortal. My skin, although whiter then snow, is soft and extraordinarily cold. Another side effect. My preternatural icy blue eyes pop out from my face, another dead give-away that I am not human. However, I still managed to slip by as a human in my years at Hogwarts, and managed to fool Draco Malfoy into loving me, needing me, craving me. However, it was not as easy as I make it appear. But a few steps in my routine, such as applying bronzer, nail polish, and dimming the appearance of my eyes using make-up, and I look absolutely human. I have the perfect body, I was blessed with something of the sort before the Dark Blood, but my hundreds of years as a vampire has only perfected it. I have a pair of somewhat small fangs that I can hide when I want to, and reveal when I feel necessary.

Now, understand this: I am a vampire and by all means evil, possessed and I do drink blood. I also, in my early days, have slept in a coffin. But crucifixes and sunlight do not harm me, and I have suffered no personal hell from God. In fact, I do not believe in hell, or in the much popularized "God" and I in my years have never heard of such a place or have felt God's wrath for my killings. Know that the only thing that can kill me is fire, and I have to be completely be engulfed in the flames and my ashes must be spread out among the Earth. Then I will have died, and if there is a hell I guess that is my time to feel the flames continuously burn my beautiful pale skin for the eternity of afterlife. But I do not plan on dying, and if I reach a certain age I am almost positive that it will be impossible for me to be burned to death, and that I will survive to the end of time. However, time can be impossible to tolerate in loneliness, which I guess is why I turned to Draco Malfoy.

When I turned to him I did not seek to do everything that I have done, I did not set out to turn the wizarding world upside down. I only wanted a companion. And it was he who chose me to be his friend and his lover, my Vampiric skills had absolutely nothing to do with that. But you might say that I am indeed a jealous thing and I do love revenge, and I can tell you now that I only did those things because of lies, betrayal, and my feelings being hurt. Childish? I guess so. But it give me the sweetest feeling to do what I did, every step of the way I adored it. I told you that I was evil. I do not blame Draco for everything, some people are gone and some cults are destroyed simply because they annoy me. I simply do not care of the deaths anymore, for if I did not murder those people, if I had stayed a good little vampire, I still would have to kill to survive and I would still have blood on my hands. And that is that, and there is no fun in that. If death was going to be my second name then I was going to get as much pleasure out of it as I wanted.

Moving on, I will forewarn you: Like I said, I am evil. I like to kill, I enjoy it. I love nothing more then a hot, red, gush of blood over my lips. I find a deep lust in being manipulative. My tale is neither happy nor friendly in any way, and I am going to predict that by the end of it you are fed up with me and absolutely despise me. Loathe, I think. But, and in some cases, and I do see this, you are fascinated by me and do not find any contempt towards me or my actions, and find them justified, I applaud you. Because that means I have told my story with all the details, with every little catch and hook. Because if you do not find me utterly disgusting, then I have told my story to it's fullest, and that you truly see the meaning of everything that happened. It means that either A. You are indeed very smart and can understand the sorrows of an old vampire or B. You are just like Draco Malfoy and find me irresistible in every way, and my charms have captivated you even in my writing. And, as you will come to learn, that can be a very dangerous thing. Let's hope for letter A, shall we?

Also, I must say that I think very highly of myself and my accomplishments, and if you were me, wouldn't you be doing the same things? I dislike immensely being told what to do and how to do something, and that I simply cannot tolerate those among the human and vampire races who cannot tell their right from their left, although they are very amusing and easy to manipulate. But I can be extraordinarily kind and caring, and I do love and show compassion. In fact, I am very much a sensualist and probably one of the most passionate people you will ever come across. That, perhaps, is part of my charm. Perhaps that is the whole of my charm. But I will never know.

But let's move on. Let's, now that we have the pesky introduction out of the way, begin the tale. Turn the page and let's continue on what ought to be one of the must intriguing tales someone has ever penned (I told you I think rather highly of myself). Let me begin to write what I believe will relieve my heavy conscience and will help me get passed these years alone.
