Breaking point- chapter two

It was lunch time. Ginny had finished her assignments a little while before with much effort. Her head hurt and the lack of sleep wasn't helping. She decided that she would eat lunch and then just head back to bed. `Simple as that,' she whispered to herself, `I'll just finish my dinner and head off to bed. No one `ll think anything of it.'

She stood up after finishing her sandwich a little too quickly. She casually made her way for the door and as soon as she shut the door behind her took off in a mad dash for the Gryffindor common room, not paying much regard to look where she was going.

She was turning a corner and ran smack into someone, knocking her to the ground. It was Malfoy. He'd become the new DADA teacher that year. `Watch where your going Weasley!' he yelled at her.

Before noticing that her elbows had begun to bleed he glided past her to head for his office, muttering under his breath.

`Great.' she said hazily, as she stood up and headed in the opposite direction to the hospital wing.

Draco was in his office trying to get some of his fifth year essays graded to keep his mind off of things, or rather a certain read headed Gryffindor. It wasn't working. She was looking nice today wasn't she Draco, said his mind in a mocking tone.

`NO!' his conscious self yelled a little to loudly.

You know you like her she's all you think about, said the voice with a sneer. Your even arguing with yourself about it! You know you just wanna-

`SHUT UP!' said Draco to stop the voice.

Oh come on! A tight little ass like that, those gorgeous legs-

`Shut up,` said Draco in a low tone. The voice quieted, but Soon in his silence he started to think about her. He smacked himself across the face to snap himself out of it. `Get a grip Draco,` he said to himself, and started to grade papers again.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

`Ugh!' Ginny yelled with great frustration as she waltzed out of the hospital wing with her arm perfectly back to normal. `For a teacher, he sure is the biggest git I've ever met!'

Yeah, but you still want to snog him! said a nasty little voice in the back of her head.

Wha-?! No, I don't- ewe! No! Ginny heard another voice say.

Don't deny it. You've liked the look of his body ever since you were a first year. I saw the way you kept looking at him during the school year and through classes! You can't fool me!

That is just totally disgusting! Malfoy is an insufferable, rich, spoiled little az-o-nine! screamed the other voice. giving Ginny quite a headache.

The two voiced kept bickering all the way up to the girls dormitories. Even as Ginny lay down in her nice warm bed, with the curtains drawn and eyes closed, the two indistinct voices argued. Failing to get to sleep due to the two screaming voices in her mind, Ginny finally blurted out loud, `SHUT THE HELL UP! I'M TRYING TO SLEEP AND YOU'RE NOT HELPING ANY!'

Sorry... replied both voices, but all too soon, the bickering started up again.

It's your fault she's all pissed off! screamed the nasty little voice. You're ALWAYS keepin' her awake!

I am not! You are! You're the one who keeps arguing all the time! You don't know when to shut your great big mouth!

`AAAAAAAAAAAH!', Ginny screamed angrily. Ramming her curtain to the side and swinging her legs over the edge of the bed, she got up and began trampling back down the stairs to the common room which was filled with chattering students. Sleepily, Ginny exited the common room and wandered up to the Owlery to visit her owl, Morgana and hoping to find some peace and quiet while she was at it.

On her was to the owlery, once again she ran into Draco.

`What are you doing up here, Weasley?' he said her late name with hostility.

`And I should tell you, Malfoy?!' Ginny sneered, not realizing that she was now talking to a teacher and not a student anymore. Stalking away from her DADA professor, Ginny turned a corner and opened the door to the dimly lit Owlery.

As she walked into the center of the room, mice bones and dried up owl- droppings crunched under her boots.

`Ewe, yuck. Scrugify!' everything on the floor was cleared and she could sit on the ground without getting covered in muck. Leaning her head against the cooled stone wall, Ginny let out a low hooting noise (a signal for Morgana to come to her side). A beautiful snow owl flew from the top perch down to her master and landed gracefully on Ginny's outstretched arm.

`Afternoon, Morgana.' Ginny sighed. The owl looked at her with gorgeous amber coloured eyes, a sense of wonder and curiosity swirling in them.

`At least you don't have to live up to standards set for you before you were even born,' Ginny began. `I mean, at least if your worried or-or scared or lonely you could just fly away. Unfortunately, Morgana, I can't. I am trapped. Trapped inside stone walls and running on a daily routine 24/7.' Another sigh. `I wish I could just get away from it all....just--- just...disappear.'

~*~*~

Just outside the door to the owlery, a stranger lurks in the shadows, listening to Ginny pour her heart and soul out, where she thinks no one can hear her.

`Hmm.`hisses the cloaked figure. `Disappear, huh? Well, that can be arranged.' The stranger let out a deep and sinister laugh that echoed off the walls, alerting Ginny of his presence.

Ginny looked quickly at the door, staring intently at it. About five minutes passed before the door creaked. She stood abruptly up, causing Morgana to look highly offended and flying off to her perch. Ginny drew her wand

and pointed it at the door before it swung completely open. The doorway was dark and then a 7th year blonde boy with bulging eyes came waltzing in.

Ginny let out a sigh of relief. `Oh, hi, Collin.'
