"A Newborn"
The hospital had a certain warm feeling to it as Harry moved down the hallway, pushing a gurney along with others with a yelping Hermione on the table. She was in a light blue hospital robe and she moaned constantly as they pushed passed gnomes with broken arms and unicorns with shattered horns. They finally arrived at the delivery room and they parked the table in the center. The doctors quickly used their wands to assemble machines and hooking wires up to Hermione. She tried to reach for her wand, which usually resided in her pocket, and pulled Harry down by his collar
"Harry!" she yelped. Harry placed her head up on a pillow and passed a dampened washcloth across her forehead.
"Hermione, just breathe." She let out a deep breath and smiled. Her chocolate brown was soaked with sweat and it stuck to her face as some droplets stayed stationary on her face.
"Harry you to have to call Ron! And my parents! Don't forget Ginny and Neville. Oh! And..." Harry placed his finger to her lip.
"Calm down! I will be back." He kissed her damp forehead and ran from the delivery room, out into the hallway. He called everyone and told them to get their asses down there or Hermione was going to turn them all to frogs. Harry walked back to the doors and stood as he watched his miracle unfold.
It all began a year after their graduation from Hogwarts and after Harry, Ron, and Hermione had successfully vanquished Lord Voldemort. Harry had been living with the both of them in a small penthouse in Hogsmeade. Ron was in a serious relationship with Luna Lovegood and they actually got engaged only two months after graduation. Ron's wedding was excellent. His whole family attended and it was a big hit. But that was where it happened. Where Harry realized his true love had been in front of his eyes his entire life.
After the ceremony, everyone left the church and met at the Weasley manor, which Ron had built his parents to move them from the Borrow. Harry mingled with some of Ron's distant cousins, who still had the same red hair and freckles as Ron and his siblings had, and he danced slowly with Luna, which was customary. After the song ended, he kissed her hand, gave it to Ron, and stumbled over to the bar for a drink.
"Fizzie-water on the rocks!" he ordered. The bartender, Ron's brother Charlie, mixed it quickly and handed it to Harry. Harry drank some and then put it down on the bar. He pulled up a stool and turned his head to watch Ron and Luna dance gracefully together to their wedding song.
"What's wrong Harry?" Charlie asked, zapping a bucket to refill it with ice. Harry never really spoke with Charlie because he was always in Romania, working at the Dragon Colony.
"It's really nothing," he replied, taking the final gulp of his drink. He brought his hand down when he saw Hermione sneak off into the wide plains that the Weasley Manor sat upon.
"Another, Harry?" Charlie asked, rinsing his glass.
"No thanks Charlie. I'm off!" he got up and followed Hermione passed the commotion around the wedding cake and through the small rickety gate into the outstretching grounds.
Minutes down the dirt path, he saw Hermione, staring out into the sunset, sitting on an old bench surrounded by wildflowers. Harry sat and stared at her for a moment, noticing her curly chocolate brown hair, her beautiful face, and how elegant she looked in her violet bridesmaid dress. He moved his foot forward and snapped a twig, alerting Hermione. She turned around and saw Harry. She smiled and waved him over.
"Harry, I didn't know you were there. Come sit!" she directed, turning back to the sunset which now rested over the horizon. Harry strolled over and sat beside her, his eyes staring into the bright orange light of the sun.
"It's beautiful isn't it?" she said, shifting her body to place her head on Harry's shoulder.
"Yes, I can't remember the last time I watched a sun set." He threw his shoulder over Hermione to cuddle her in his arms.
"I can! It was our fourth year at Hogwarts. It was before the last Triwizard Tournament event and we were going over spells and charms. We sat on the dew tipped grass and watched that glorious sun set. It's also where..." she stopped and picked her head off of Harry's shoulder.
"Where I did this." He put his lips to Hermione's and then pulled away. His heart was racing, his hands shaking and it seemed to have the same effect on Hermione. The sun finally rested over the horizon and the clouds exploded with rain. The two of them quickly ran into a small shack, usually used by the gardeners to avoid to storm.
"Le Carnum Inflamarai!" Hermione whispered, igniting a fire in the fireplace. They cuddled up next to it under a small blanket and watched the fire emit small sparks.
"Hermione..." Harry whispered, kissing her cheek. Their lips met and they tumbled to the floor. Harry kissed down her soft column of a neck and he pushed down the dress until her pale bare body lay under him. She trembled with ever touch as Harry moved his lips up and down her body.
"Harry, I love you!" she gasped. Harry picked his head up off her neck and whispered back.
"I love you too." The fire lowered, yet the warmth of passion and love continued to burn all through the night.
After that night, Harry and Hermione were inseparable. Only a month after Ron's wedding, Ginny was married to Neville Longbottom. The wedding was exquisite, full of happiness and love. But the reason for this was that Neville's parents, who had been tortured by Voldemort attended it, minus their ranting and babbling of torture and evil. This is where Harry confessed his love to Hermione. After the couple's last dance, he took Hermione by the hand and lured her out in front of everyone onto the dance floor. There he bent on one knee and revealed a diamond ring from a small jewelry box.
"Hermione, in front of all our friends, please become Mrs. Hermione Potter." The room was silent. Everyone stared in suspense at Hermione, whose hands had slammed to her chest in shock and amazement.
"Yes, Harry, I will be your bride!" He placed the ring on her finger and she jumped into his arms, planting a soft kiss on his lips. Everyone cheered and crowded around the two. The two left that night and drove back to Harry's apartment to plan their wedding.
They were married the next month when another surprise shocked their family. Hermione was three months pregnant with their child. Their family was growing and at fast rate.
"Harry!" A voice rang in his ears over the commotion of St. Brutus's Hospital. He turned his head and saw Ron and Luna running down the hallway. Luna was seven months pregnant with their first child and losing one to miscarriage.
"Did we miss it?" Ron asked, helping Luna into a chair.
"No, she won't be due for another hour or so." He shook his hand and knelt beside Luna.
"How are you feeling?" he asked moving a hair from her eyes.
"Oh! I'm in tip top shape. Don't you worry Harry," she said, patting his hand.
"Go to Hermione. We'll get everyone down here!" Ron said pushing him back into the delivery room. He strolled over to Hermione's side and grabbed her hand. She looked over at him and smiled, that smile he fell in love with.
"Who's here?" she asked tightening her grip on his hand.
"Sh! Ron and Luna just arrived. Don't worry, no one will miss this," he reassured her and pulled over a seat to sit down.
About fifteen minutes later, she had gone into labor, a labor full of yelling and screaming. "She sounded like a banshee with a toothache" one nurse muttered as the doctor walked in.
"Okay, Mrs. Potter, this baby is ready," he said, whipping out his wand.
"Extractious!" A beam of white light shot from the tip and over Hermione. The sound of a baby's cry screeched in the doctor's arms as he handed it to Hermione.
"Congratulations! It's a boy!" he announced. Hermione held it in her arms and look at it in adornment.
"He has your eyes." She revealed, pointed to the baby's now open green eyes.
"What's his name?" the nurse asked. Harry looked at Hermione who looked back at him.
"We haven't..." He was interrupted by Hermione, who mumbled something under her breath.
"What was that?" the nurse asked.
"James, the baby's name is James Bartholomew Potter, after out fathers." The nurse wrote it down and gave Harry the birth certificate. He could only smile at Hermione and their new baby, James Bartholomew Potter.
