Lily Evans woke one morning and grabbed her broom from her cupboard. 'Go on Petty! Get on! I dare you!' she called at her sister. 'Go away! You know I can't fly you stupid witch!' Petunia retaliated.

Lily and Petunia were sisters. Very close, but both worlds apart. Although their mother was a witch and so was their father, Petunia possessed no magical powers; she was a person who would be known as a squib in the wizarding world.

Now over twenty-five years later, Lily was dead, James Potter, Lily's husband was also dead and she had been caring for their son for the last fifteen years. The only problem was Harry Potter. He was of magical blood, he was very powerful, and very much a wizard. He knew something must link Petunia to the wizarding world. She knew little facts that muggles did not know.

Two dementors had attacked Harry and her son, Dudley, last summer. Petunia had known instantly what a danger they were and what their job was and was horrified. This led Harry to think thoughts she didn't want him to think.. Petunia had to be careful. Harry was due to return from his school the next day and she had decided to tell him that she was a squib that day.

The next day Petunia and Vernon left their house; they headed for Kings Cross station. There they waited for Harry. He strolled through the barrier and was instantly joined by a group of people. They all walked into Vernon and Petunia and told them that if they heard that Harry was bing mistreated they would be sorted out. Petunia scoffed at them, but was scared, that was until she felt a cloudy eye on her, and glanced at its owner, the legendary Auror, Alistor Moody. That's when it dawned on her that they were serious.

Getting into the car on the trip home, she told Harry that she needed a chat with him, in private and that Vernon was to leave them for an hour or so. When they arrived back at Privet Drive, Harry headed for the kitchen. Once inside, Petunia locked the door and sat Harry down.

'I am now going to tell you what I should have told you five years ago.'

'You sound like Dumbledore!' muttered Harry.

'Do not compare me to a great wizard like Dumbledore!' She growled.

'You know who Dumbledore is?'

'Harry your mother was pure blooded.' she muttered with her head bowed.

'B-b-but that w-would make you a witch!' stuttered Harry.

'It makes me a squib,' she replied softly, voice edged with poison.

'Ok, that explains why you understand quiet a bit about the wizarding world, obviously you have no contact in the wizard world except the odd letter off Dumbledore.'

Petunia pulled out a box from under the sink.

'Every morning I am up at four, so that Vernon does not see the owls. For the past fifteen years I have had the Daily Prophet every day without fail.'

"You go to Diagon Alley for the coins?"

"Mrs Figg gets my money out of my account. I also have a key to your vault and I promise you with all my power, I have not touched a penny. Vernon does not know about my AA!' called a loud booming voice from the other room. 'Harry, never repeat this! Only you, Dumbledore and Mrs Figg know. Now hurry, I must put these back.' She handed Harry a copy of the daily prophet with the date 1st of November 1980. It was then that it hit him. She had given him the Prophet from the day after his parent's death. On the first page was a picture of Harry and his parents. Slowly he left the room and headed upstairs.
