Chapter 1

"But Albus--"

"Don't worry, Sybill, all we can do is to hope for the best. There's no changing the prophecy, now. And who knows? Maybe the world will be better...."

"Alright Albus, but don't say I didn't warn you...who would've thought? Of all people, Virginia Weasley."

Meanwhile, at the Burrow...

"VIRGINIA WEASLEY! WAKE UP THIS INSTANT! YOU WILL BE LATE! AND GET THAT BROTHER OF YOURS UP TOO! THIS INSTANT!!!!"

"Yes, mum," grumbled Ginny as she got up and thumped the wall connecting her room to Ron's.

"Get up, you sleepyhead!"

She was answered by indistinct mumbling, and she was struck by an ingenious idea.

"HERMIONE?! What are you doing here?" she squealed.

"'MIONE?!?!?!" Ron jumped up in fright. "I'm not ready yet!" When answered by loud giggling, he said "Alright, you got me, Gin, now shut up already."

They quickly ate their breakfast and were soon on the Hogwarts express.

Ginny entered the compartment with Ron to find Hermione and Harry already chatting happily. Ginny quickly sat beside Harry because she had become his girlfriend in her fourth year, and now it was her fifth. She gave him a quick peck on the cheek as he whispered in her ear "I missed you." She flashed him a stunning smile and settled down peacefully.

The ride was relatively uneventful, except for when she thought she heard him mutter "Hermione" while asleep. She quickly dismissed that when they arrived and he whispered 'I love you' into her ear and gave her a dazzling smile. They were both in love, and it was beautiful.

After the Sorting ceremony, she decided to sit in the Common Room for a little while longer until there was an uncomfortable silence resting between the Trio and Ginny. She said nervously, "Umm, I'll be going to sleep now.." They all mumbled answers resembling 'yeah, I'll be going to sleep in a few minutes, too.'

She wondered at this reaction, but blamed it on her exhaustion and quickly fell asleep. In her dream, the old bat Trelawney was saying to her "Dear, fulfill your destiny. Do as you will. Release your emotions, do not hide your true self. It is no use, it is no use, it is no use..." She kept repeating it until Ginny awoke with Trelawney staring at Ginny. She couldn't fall asleep, so she decided to go down to the Common Room. However, while she was at the stairs, she heard low muttering and peeking around the corner, she saw none other but the Trio, talking in low voices.

"But what if someone else finds out about Kernley?" asked Hermione.

"They won't," answered Harry, "He's hidden too well, and as long as nobody here tells, then it can be guaranteed that nobody else will know."

"Are you sure, Harry?" asked Ron, "Are you sure you can restrain yourself from telling Ginny?"

"That can be arranged," said Harry, sneaking a glance at Hermione, "I'm sure I'll be able to resist telling Ginny."

"All right then," Ron said, "I'll be going to sleep."

"Me too," added Hermione. While Harry said that he wanted to stay a bit longer.

However, as soon as Ron was out of sight, Hermione came back and sat on Harry's lap.

"You were gone so long that I thought you forgot to come back!" said Harry.

"Oh silly, how could I have forgotten, love?" asked Hermione playfully and kissed him on the lips. They began snogging further and upon hearing moans, Ginny fled up the stairs and went back to her dorm. She was heartbroken...how could Harry do this to her, after everything they had had together? And behind her back at that!

The next morning, Ginny plastered on a fake smile and greeted Harry with a light kiss on the cheek.

"How did you sleep last night?" asked Ginny in a false cheery mood.

"Oh, absolutely wonderful," said Harry, "I went to sleep right after you left and surprisingly, I didn't have any nightmares!"

"Oh?" said Ginny, "Then why do you have such black circles under your eyes?"

"Oh THAT," said Harry, "Umm, that's from this summer, when I had to stay over at Hermione's house, 'cause the Dursleys were being terribly mean to me."

"I see, umm, Harry, you wouldn't mind if I asked you some questions, would you, Harry?" said Ginny timidly.

"No, go ahead!"

"Do you love me Harry?" asked Ginny.

Harry looked at Ginny in surprise. "I always tell you I love you..."

"No," said Ginny, "like really really LOVE me."

"Um, yeah. Of course!" said Harry, squirming under Ginny's stare.

Ginny merely turned around and walked out of the Great Hall.

The rest of her day was relatively uneventful, except for when she saw Harry and Hermione walking out of a classroom, both looking a bit disheveled..

"Harry, can I talk to you for a minute? Alone?" asked Ginny.

"Sure," he said, "I'll meet you in front of the library in a while, 'Mione" he added.

When she left, Ginny asked, "Harry, who's Kernley?"

Harry gasped in surprise and quickly tried to cover up, saying, "Kernley? Um, what are you talking about? Heh heh, I don't know of any Kernley..."

Ginny looked sternly at him and said, "Harry, if I truly mean anything to you, you will tell me who Kernley is."

Harry looked away in desperation and said, "I really don't know anybody named Kernley..."

Disappointed, Ginny said, "Alright then." And walked away. Her heart was broken into a million tiny pieces and she knew that they could never be put together again.

That night, she was eavesdropping again and heard the Trio talk about Harry's close encounter with Ginny.

"How the hell did she FIND OUT?!" squealed Hermione exasperatedly.

"I don't know!" said Harry, "Are you SURE you didn't tell her, Ron?"

"! ARE YOU BLAMING ME?! OF COURSE I DIDN'T TELL! WHY IN BLOODY HELL WOULD I TELL HER?!"

At this point, Ginny accidentally gave a little squeal of rage. The Trio froze up quickly and remained silent. To cover up, she pretended to have just woken up and walked down the stairs loudly.

"Woah," she muttered while rubbing her eyes, "What are you guys doing here?"

"Never you mind," said Hermione sharply. "Have you been eavesdropping?!"

Ron quickly stood up angrily and said, "GINNY! What are you doing? You should be asleep right now! Why are you listening in on us?!"

"Geez, Ron," Ginny said coldly, "Chill. There's no need to go blaming people when they didn't even do anything wrong. And if I were you, Hermione, I'd shut my little trap before speaking. Mudbloods and bookworms aren't very respectable. You should mind your place."

"Listen to me right now and go back to sleep," said Harry, standing up furiously, "Now I know how you found out about Kernley. Why were you spying on us?"

"WHO SAID ANYTHING ABOUT SPYING?" demanded Ginny angrily. "I came down to get my book that I left down here! Geez, if that's illegal, I should've known better than to be FRIENDS with you!"

Instead of apologizing for being so quick to jump to conclusions, Ron narrowed his eyes at her and said, "Be a good little girl, and go back to sleep, little sister."

"Ronald Bilius Weasley," said Ginny icily, "It would do you well to remember that I am no longer a little girl." She turned around and when she was a few stairs up, she turned her head around, saying "Oh by the way, I wouldn't be rude to me, if I were you. I know things that would freeze your blood...brother."

At the top of the stairs, she stopped to eavesdrop again.

"WHAT did she mean by that?" demanded Ron.

"How do I know?" sniffed Hermione.

Ron walked away, mumbling about how he needed to get some rest to clear his head.

"I always knew that I never liked that girl," said Hermione haughtily.

"That makes two of us, love," added Harry, and leaned to his left to give Hermione a kiss.

After snogging for a little while longer, Hermione turned to Harry and asked, "When will you dump that little girl? It's awful having her by your side when everyone knows it should be me."

"Just a little while longer," Harry said.

Upon hearing this, Ginny turned and fled to her room. At first, she thought she would've been heartbroken, but her heart froze over and she decided that she would get revenge on the whole Trio. She decided to plan out exactly what she would do tomorrow, especially since she knew that all the teachers would not be present for breakfast, due to a meeting.
