Chapter 01

Author's Note:: I like this story! It's the first good story I've written in two years. It's pretty long, but I hope you like it! Also, this story is an alternate universe (AU) so not everything is the same! Most things are, though!

Chapter One: The Problem

"Hermione, wake up, honey! Hermione, come on, time for breakfast!" Harry whispered softly into her ear as she opened her eyes. "Good morning, sweetie. You're finally awake! Lately you've been sleeping more and more!"

"Oh, Harry, I think I'm just exhausted from all the studying. 6^th Year is hard, even for me," Hermione said, pulling Harry down on her by his tie.

"Come on, Hermione, don't mess up Harry's tie, he has an important interview this afternoon," Ron said, coming into Hermione's room to see if she was awake.

"Ginny, Get up! Breakfast," Ron shouted as Ginny ran down the stairs.

"Good morning, Hermione, Harry, Ron, Ginny!" Mrs. Weasley greeted everyone.

"Good morning, Mum!" Harry and Ron replied simultaneously. Harry was adopted by the Weasleys in the summer of 3^rd Year.

"Oh, bloody hell, Malfoy, why are you here? Just because you're dating Ginny doesn't mean you can ruin everyone's breakfast!" Ron said when he saw Draco seated at the table.

"Good morning to you, too, Ron! I have an announcement to make, so please don't ruin it!" Draco replied.

"Well," Draco began, when everyone was seated. "Ginny and I have decided to get married! We will be tying the knot on Valentine's Day!"

"Congratulations, Draco, Ginny, best of luck to you!" Harry exclaimed, excited and stammered.

"What a prat," Ron murmured under his breath. "The only reason he stared going out with her in the first place was to annoy me!"

LATER:

"I'm going to Diagon Alley, Hermione, I'm having a drink with Hagrid, and I have a meeting with Pucan Quidditch Associations this afternoon. Do you need anything?" Harry called hurriedly through the bedroom door.

"I need a new wand; unicorn hair and dragon hide, 7 inches, and an owl; medium size, black and white. Oh, could you pick up 100 galleons from the bank? Thanks! Love you!" Hermione replied.

As Harry was grabbing some floo powder, he saw Draco run down the stairs from Ginny's room, trying to straighten his hair.

"Hey, Drake, busy with Ginny?" Harry teased. "Well, I just wanted to apologize about Ron. He's protective of Ginny, and doesn't want her to get hurt, that's all!"

"Well then, Harry, could you please not tell him about this? He would know what happened, even if he saw my hair messed up! Thanks!" Draco called, darting into his room as Ron came down the hall.

"Where are you going, Harry?" Ron asked

"Diagon Alley. Want to come? I have to pick up some things for Hermione, get a drink with Hagrid, then go over to Pucan Inc. Building for my interview."

"Sure! I haven't seen Hagrid in months!" Ron said enthusiastically.

DIAGON ALLEY:

"So, Harry, when are you going to ask her?" Ron asked as they walked to the owlery.

"On Saturday, our anniversary," Harry responded, very calmly.

"Harry, aren't you excited, nervous, afraid, worried, ANYTHING?!" Ron asked, sensing the calmness in Harry's voice.

"All of the above, I just don't want to get excited, that's all! She could say no, or worse, HELL NO!" Harry said with shimmering emerald eyes.

"Oh, come on Harry, she won't say no! She loves you! There is no reason for her to reject!!!" Ron said, reassuringly.

"RON!"

"What?!"

"You're making me excited!"

"Oh, sorry!"

BACK AT HOME:

"So, what do you think?" Harry asked, showing the ring to Ron. "Do you think she'll like it?"

"No, I don't think she'll like it, Harry, I think she'll love it," Ron said, handing the small box back to Harry.

"Yeah, the lady who works where I bought it said that it was perfect. She said that when she gets married, she wants that on her finger," Harry said with a slight laugh. "Now all I have to do is give it to her. How do you think she'll take it?"

GINNY'S ROOM:

"Ginny! I think Harry's cheating on me!" Hermione wailed. "And I think he's going to ask her to marry him!"

"Hermione, what gives you that idea? I'm sure that isn't true! But if you want me to ask him about it, I will," Ginny sighed, trying to comfort her broken-hearted buddy.

"Honey, what's wrong? I heard you crying from the kitchen!" Harry asked, entering Ginny's room.

"I think I should leave before you two say anything," Ginny grinned as she darted for the door.
