Danielle didn’t want to be anywhere close to that slimy git of a Slytherin. She didn’t like it when her Potions teacher assigned her to Draco Malfoy, the last boy that she wanted to be partnered with. She would rather be partners with Hermione than with Draco.

Draco had the same impression, but he wanted to be partnered up with Choy so that he could get her to do all of the dirty work. As Danielle was working on the potion, Draco caught himself looking at the girl’s figure before she asked him to pass one of the ingredients to her.

Later, sometime after Potions, Harry and Draco had another pest fight between each other. Just before Harry got hit by the freeze hex, Danielle stepped in and got the hex instead of Harry, thus saving his hide.

It’s one-two-three

And suddenly

I see it at a glance—

Draco had never intended for Danielle to step into their fight, saving Harry from the hex. McGonagall came after seeing Danielle frozen in her steps. She gave Draco detention for hexing Danielle.

Draco had never been so angry in his life. But, at the same time, he felt bad that Danielle was taking the freezing hex instead of Harry…His one and only true crush of his love life ever since first term of Hogwarts…that’s what made him stay in fourth year besides the Triwizard Tournament.

After Danielle was unfrozen, she had also received detention for not telling a teacher about the fight between Harry and Draco; she knew that they were at it every two weeks. As she entered the Great Hall, she saw Draco staring at her. She wondered what he was looking at her for as she tore the glance from Draco and focused on eating instead.

She’s radiant

And confident

And born to take this chance.

Draco was staring at Danielle before she looked at him. Their eyes met for an eternal moment before she tore the eye contact and sat at the Hufflepuff table. Draco looked at his plate before looking back at the beautiful girl that he had made fun of for the past four years. He really didn’t mean to make fun of her, but she was with the weasel and potty boy every time he looked.

She was no longer the shy, self-contained girl that he had met back in Madam Malkin’s Dress Robe Shop. She had become the radiant and gorgeous woman that might change the fate between of the Malfoys and the Choys…Yes; he had found out that the Choys were of an ancient wealthy family.

As evening began to appear into the once blue sky, Danielle entered the room that she was supposed to be in with Malfoy. She was there alone. She summoned a boom box in the room and turned the station to a song that she could dance into. While she was dancing, Draco entered the room and saw Danielle dancing.

I taught her well,

I planned it all!

I just forgot…

Romance!

Draco stepped in and began to waltz with Danielle, placing one hand on her lower back while the other took Danielle’s hand and grasped it in his hand. Danielle was surprised that Draco found her dancing and that he was waltzing with her, which she never mastered really well. But, something in her mind and heart made her forget that she was horrible on waltzing and just focused on how grey Draco’s eyes were.

As she and Draco were waltzing, she seemed to forget the fact that they were supposed to serve detention. As the song continued to play, Draco and Danielle were in each other’s arms, dancing together which was uncommon for the two of them to do together.

The song ended and they stop waltzing, but Draco didn’t let Danielle go. He loved the feeling that he was having with Danielle. The way that she was dancing with him made him feel that they weren’t enemies, but something else…

Vlad, how could you do this?

How will we get

Through this?

I never should have

Let them dance.

“What was that all about?” Danielle asked as she got loose from the boy’s grasp.

“What, you never waltz before, Choy?”

“Actually, I never got it right. This is my first time that I didn’t mess up, Draco.”

Draco couldn’t believe his ears…did she just call him by his first name?

“And ‘yes’, I just called you by your first name, if that’s what you’re thinking now.”

“Why…Why didn’t you call me ‘Malfoy’ or ‘Slimy git’ or ‘Ferret Boy’?”

“Look, just because you’re from a bad family background, doesn’t mean that I shouldn’t confess my feelings to you… (Slaps her forehead) Oh, I should have not said that…”

“Said what? That you ‘love’ me?”

“YES! And I mean it,” Danielle said before she leaned towards Draco and kissed him to shut him up.

Draco tensed when Danielle placed her soft, moisturize lips on his rough, dry ones. He relaxed and held Danielle in his arms, knowing that he could fall for her.

From that point on, Danielle no longer defined Draco Malfoy again.
