Life in Hufflepuff
My life here in Hufflepuff is somewhat normal…for a pure blood witch. But, living in 2 worlds makes me feel that I have a split personality. This is kind of hard for me being a teenager in the Wizarding world, but most of the summers in between the school years as a Muggle.
School is fun…for the Hufflepuff house. The Ravenclaws…they don’t say much to us Hufflepuffs, so I guess they liked school too. The Slytherins...oh, god; they do too many pranks to think that school is fun. The Gryffindors…Well, Hermione loves it, but I’m not sure about the other Gryffindors.
Friends…not a problem for me. I’ve known the Griffin Trio since 1st year…Harry, Ron, and Hermione are Gryffindor’s ‘special’ trio. The Griffins call me Lil’ Gryffinpuff…a mixture of Gryffindor and Hufflepuff. That is what Fred and George…my identical uncles, call me during the summer breaks…
Danielle looked up from her creative essay and sees a photograph of her friends including herself on the night table. She smiled at the moving pic as she remembers the event that the photo was taken…it was her 15th birthday in Hogwarts.
She sighs and looks around her dorm. Since she was a prefect, she had stayed in the room behind the fireplace in the Hufflepuff common room. She had been in this room since she started Hogwarts with the trio and Casey.
She had missed Casey for two days. Casey had gone home for the holidays to spend time with her single mom and her younger brother. Danielle once had a family, but they were murdered when she was in England.
Lovers…I don’t know what it’s like to be in love. I’ve seen a lot of people getting in and getting out of a relationship. I even helped Casey to go out with her crush, Malcolm Braddock. I do have a crush, but it’s just not my right to say who it is.
Enemies…that’s easy for the trio and I. Our enemies have always been the Slytherin goons, Draco Malfoy, Vincent Crabbe, and…I don’t recall Goyle’s last name. Anyway, I’ve been somewhat nicer towards Draco, even though he’s my adversary.
Life for me seems fine once you get the hang of being a pure blood witch and living in a Muggle house during the summer, but during the school year, it feels like you’re a Muggle in a wizarding school.
Danielle caught the quill before it fell from writing by her mind. She placed her quill set away and began to roll the parchment up. The parchment disappeared when it was all rolled up. She smiled as she began to clean herself up.
She took off her lodging clothes and she put a black silk dress on. She then enchanted her hair into an elegant twist and curled the ends up. She then used a little magic to put a little jewelry and make-up on.
After putting on her black Chinese Laundry heels on, she then put her black dress robes over her silk dress. The dress, the shoes and the dress robes had little jewels and glitter all over it, giving Danielle that ‘sparkling’ appearance.
A knock came from the door; Danielle walked over to her door and opened it. On the other side was Draco Malfoy, in all black attire. His smirk was nowhere to be found on his face, but his jaw dropped when he saw Danielle.
“Danielle, you-you look amazing in that color,” Draco managed to say.
“Thank you, Mr. Malfoy. Are you ready to go then?” Danielle asked as she left her room.
“Definitely,” Draco replied as he offered his arm to her, which she accepted.
Draco and Danielle left the Hufflepuff common room and made their way down to the Yule Ball.
