The Book

Chapter One

Sara picked an interesting looking book of the shelf. She had started her first year at Hogwarts mare than a little nervous. She'd grown up around magic so she wasn't surprised when she received her acceptance letter.

Now she was reading up on her history to impress her teachers. She sat at the table and a few stray curls passed over her eyes. She pushed them back and moved her school books aside.

She had no clue that what she was about to read was about her ancestors. Her parents had never told her who she was related to. She opened up to the front page and read the prologue.

She became immersed in the story of six teenagers at Hogwarts. Two of which were her, however many great, great, great, great, great, great grandparents. For she was Sara Lily Potter.

"Harry come on, we're going to be late."

"Why are you so worried Ron. Charlie won't mind if we're a little late."

Charlie, Ron's older brother, had taken over the Care of Magical Creatures class so that Hagrid could take a break with Madame Maxime.

"Well he told me he had a fun class planned and I don't want to miss anything, so come on."

"All right I'm coming."

They reached the class standing in the middle of Hogwarts grounds, and stood next to Hermione.

It was a beautiful Fall day and the start of their sixth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. All three of them were learning to be aurours. The sun was beating down, and there were clouds dotting the sky. Hermione's hair blew in the wind.

Harry had a slight crush on her. Well more than a slight crush, but he wasn't going to tell anyone not even Ron.

"All right class this is my first day, so I thought we'd start this out right," Charlie said to them with a bright smile. "As some of you may know I work with dragons." At this some people looked around curiously, almost like they expected to see a big dragon that had been hidden.

"Well I've got a surprise for you in the forest." This grabbed everyone's attention. "Follow me," he finished.

Everyone followed quickly behind Charlie. Even Draco seemed to walk faster than usual.

They walked under a canopy of trees, that blocked the sun, they came to a clearing. What they saw made them all gasp.....

"Sara hurry up, we have CoMC next."

She looked up to see her first friend at Hogwarts, Katlyn, walking up to her. Feeling some deja vue she stood up and followed Katy to class.

On her way she kept thinking of the book she had checked out. Was Harry Potter related to her? She decided to owl her parents about it later.

The class stood on the grassy yard as Professor Nabosky addressed them. "Today we are working with Unicorns."

All the girls looked around with excitement.

"The girls will approach first. Can someone tell me why?"

Sara raised her hand and said, "Because Unicorns prefer the touch of a witch."

"Right you are. Five points to Gryffindor."

The Slytherins hissed at her with jealousy. Even after all these years the grudge between the two houses had not ceased. Although many years ago two boys, one from Gryffindor the other from Slytherin, had worked together.

The class period went by fast, but it was followed with a two page essay for homework. She walked to lunch with her friends and she sat down. She caught sight of her boyfriend and she waved. He winked at her, then turned back to his friends.

She spent the whole time talking, laughing, and eating with Katy and some other friends.

After lunch they had a break so Katy went and sent an owl to her mom asking about her ancestors. Then she made her way outside. She found a shady tree, opened her book, and began to read.

Harry, Ron, Hermione, and the rest of the class stared. For sitting in a pen was a gigantic Welsh Green Dragon. Friends of Charlie walked around the pen keeping the dragon stable. Everyone had seen a Welsh green two years ago, during the second task of the Twizard Tournament. Everyone except Harry that is. He had ended up with a different dragon.

Neither Harry or Hermione had noticed that when they had entered the clearing Hermione had grabbed his hand until she let go quickly.

"Class what type of dragon is this?"

Hermione raised her hand and said, "A full-grown Welsh Green."

"Correct. Ten points to Gryffidor." The Slytherins gave her an icy glare.

"During this class you will get a close up look at him. Don't worry we have a charm that we use to make sure he doesn't see you. Who wants to go first?"

The class went in one by one with a friend of Charlie's. All of the Slytherins took a turn to. All the while the dragon seemed not to notice. When the class was over Charlie led them back to the ground and dismissed them with no homework.

They all trudged to lunch, buzzing about Charlie's first class. People who hadn't been there yet asked what it was like, but no one would tell them.

"That was a great class, but I still miss Hagrid."

"Oh Harry he'll be back. Besides wasn't that one of the best classes we've ever had."

"Ya, I guess," Harry told Ron with a grin.

Hermione was staring at Harry. He had no clue that she had a major crush on him, and she had no intention of telling him. Unless he felt the same about her.

"When is Sirius going to send the book you forgot," Hermione asked.

"Umm.. I'm not sure. Hopefully soon, but McGonagall said it was all right. She's been a lot nicer this year," Harry responded.

After lunch the three made their way to the dungeons for Potions class. They took their normal seats in the back of the room. They got a surprise though when they realized who they had this class with. They usually had it with the Slytherins, but now they had it with the Ravenclaws.

Snape still wasn't in there so they talked.

"Hey who's that girl sitting at that table over there," Ron asked.

Hermione looked and said, "Oh, that's Katrina Aetheoionema. She transferred from a different school this year. She's in Ravenclaw."

"She's hot," Ron said.

At this both Harry and Hermione burst into a fit of silent giggles. Then Professor Snape walked in and they instantly stopped.

"Hello class," he said with no expression. "The few people in here are students who need this class to become whatever it is you want to be. I'm warning you now that it will not be easy, and if you are failing you will be kicked out of this class. Today we will start with a binding potion. Open your book to page 12 and it tells you the ingredients. Oh but first someone tell me what it does."

Hermione raised her hand, but like always he ignored her. "How about you Potter? Can you tell me what it does," he asked with a sinister look.

"It binds your powers so you can't use them," Harry said.

"Miss Granger I expect you not to tell him the answer. So lets see, five points from Gryffindor."

The Gryffindors looked at him with disgusted faces while the Slytherins gloated.

"All class get working."

For the rest of the time they worked in silence until Snape said, "It is time to test them. If you did it right its only temporary, however if you didn't it can be permanent."

One by one people were tested and thankfully no one did it wrong. Snape let them go with a six paragraph essay on the potion.

"Earth to Sara," her boyfriend Kyle said,

"What," she asked giving him a kiss on the cheek.

"Just wondering if you'll spend some time with me or answer that owl sitting on your knee."

She looked down to see a minute owl sitting there. She recognized it as her family owl. She knew it had to be her mom answering her owl. Sara was a little surprised it got there so quickly.

She opened it up and read through it. When she looked up she asked Kyle if he had ever heard of Harry Potter.

"Of course. He and his friends banished one of the most powerful evil wizards of his time. He's famous for it."

"Really, well he is my great, great, great, great, great, great, grandpa."
