~Believe~

I used to think that I could not go on

And life was nothing but an awful song

They were running through a field of marigolds. As their foot pounded lightly against the ground, pollen soared and gave life to the bumblebees buzzing through the petals. They, however, were wearing light slippers on their feet, mere protection from the pebbles that were scattered across the grass as an attempted road, and did not notice the flower-loving insects buzzing in the trees. The petals fluttered in the around them, cascading around their shoulders. Harry turned to see her smiling face as the petals created a tiara on her head. His thoughts were only full of love and admiration. It was amazing that even Mother Nature recognized his love as a princess.

But now I know the meaning of true love

I'm leaning on the everlasting arms

The couple walked as far as their feet could carry them before reaching a river. It was strewn through the fields, probably created from all the fall precipitation because it was in an area where rain was more common than the cold. She dipped her feet in the water, insisting it was not proper for a lady to jump in the water with out her swimming costume while gazing upon him fondly. Harry called for her over and over, and in the heat she could not resist. She jumped into the water, and her numerous petticoats created a parachute when they hit the water's surface. He let out a hearty laugh at the petite woman waddling over to him in a humongous "balloon" dress.

If I can see it, then I can do it

If I just believe it, there's nothing to it

The weight of her dress pulled her down, and she felt that it was okay to forget some of her humility. After all, only Harry's loving eyes watched her, and heaven knows she could drown with such a heavy outfit on. She slipped off one of her many petticoats, and as it hit the river's sandy bottom, her silky dress fizzled. Light as a balloon, she was, and modestly beautiful. They embraced, and after she wrapped her arms around him, and they shared a sweet, brief kiss.

I believe I can fly

I believe I can touch the sky

They stayed frolicking in the water for quite some time. Many a fish was sighted, and the two looked in awe as aquatic organisms of every size, shape, and color passed them by. When the couple grew tired and their skin wrinkled, they retired from their river follies. She begged Harry to sunbathe, and they did, but only for a quarter hour. His head hurt from being under the sun, and he pleaded for a retreat. They found an apple tree, and Harry reached up to the roundest one. She took a bite of the fruit before passing it back, her energy restored. Harry took a few bites as well before tossing it aside for the birds to find.

I think about it every night and day

Spread my wings and fly away

They lay in the shade for hours, talking about many things. He gazed fondly at her while the sweet whisper of the winds intruded her auburn hair, and admired the way her gorgeous eyes could express all of her emotions. They locked eyes, and he wished that this moment in time could be held onto forever.

I believe I can soar

I see me running through that open door

'Love,' Harry thought, 'how amazing it is.' It truly was an amazing feeling. For Harry, he had found a woman who he loved to spend time with and couldn't live without. He hadn't realized this until they actually had been separated for a few months, but oh, how they dragged on without her comforting smile.

I believe I can fly

I believe I can fly

I believe I can fly

'I could spend the rest of my life like this, living this day over and over again, if only it were to be by her side,' he thought. How true this was. Today had been heavenly, to say the least, and he and she both knew it.

See, I was on the verge of breaking down

Sometimes silence can seem so loud

The year before had been dark and lonely. His life was a confusing mess, full of emptiness and sorrow. Now she was here to fill in the bare spaces of his heart.

There are miracles in life I must achieve

But first I know it starts inside of me

They had rekindled their friendship from years ago, and it had felt like ages before he had shared her smile. After a year of rebuilding their faith, they had dated, and now, she was exclusively his, as he was hers. Now, he believed, was time to make this an official fact to the rest of the world.

I believe I can fly

I believe I can touch the sky

He fell to his knees, reached into his pocket and began to forge coughs. When he had found the ring in his coat pocket, he raised one foot to the ground and propped the precious jewel between his figures. The look of concern of her face was soon replaced with shock and bewilderment.

'Hermione, will you marry me?'

I think about it every night and day

Spread my wings and fly away

Harry had wanted to propose to her for a while now. It had been like an impulse to spend the rest of his days with this one special woman. Now that he had raised the question, what would her answer be? It seems as though days passed before she finally replied.

'I had no idea you cared for me in such a way,' she said. He grimaced. Had his affection not been obvious enough? He had made a fool out of himself. What she only had undying lust for him? That wasn't good enough for marriage! Still, with all the courage he could muster, Harry decided to ask again.

'My darling, it's now or never. Tell me true; will you be mine forever?'

I believe I can soar

I see me running through that open door

'Yes,' Hermione had cried, and jumped into his arms. Harry sighed with relief, glad to know that she had been shocked about their mutual feelings, and not that he cared for her too much.

I Believe I Can Fly

I Believe I Can Fly

I Believe I Can Fly

They spun around in circles before walking back to the village. The sheer fact of knowing that they were so deeply in love with each other took up the use of words. Finally, they were ready to announce their love to the world. Harry Potter headed home with the biggest grin on his face, while the girl of his dreams walked merrily at his side.

Cause I believe in me

Oh, and they lived happily ever after.
