Somewhere out there,

Beneath the pale moonlight,

Someone's thinking of me and loving me,

Tonight.

Harry missed Hermione so much it hurt. He had fallen in love with her over their 6th year. He didn't tell her because she was so in love with Ron at the time, she wouldn't have noticed he existed. It didn't matter that Ron didn't like he back, and she eventually got over him. He still couldn't tell her how he felt. So here he was, sitting on Privet Drive, waiting for Hedwig to get back from hunting so he could send her with a letter for Hermoine. He was surprised that Hermione didn't realize how he felt. He had been writing her almost everyday of the summer. She probably thought he was bored and missed his friends. Well she was right about the last part. He did miss his friends. Her, to be more exact. It's not like he was writing Ron this much.

Somewhere out there,

Someone's saying a prayer,

That we'll find one another,

And that we'll meet,

Somewhere out there.

Hermione could only hope that Harry's frequent letters meant that he had feelings for her. She had given up all hope last year, when she had faked liking Ron to get Harry to tell her how he felt about her. Of course, Ron had agreed to play along, and "break my heart" to get Harry to tell me if he loved me. Harry didn't end up telling her anything, so she just assumed that he thought of her only as a friend, and nothing more. However, now Harry was writing her almost everyday. She spent half her time hoping that they were to show that he liked her more than he had let on during their 6th year. The other half she spent convincing herself that he was just bored and he missed his friends. He was probably writing Ron just as much.

And even though I know how far apart we are,

It helps to think we might be wishing,

On the same bright star.

Hedwig was back from hunting and Harry hurried over to her and asked her to take his latest letter to Hermione. Hedwig looked from the letter to Harry as if to say 'Another one?'

"Yes, I know Hedwig, but I can't help it. You know how much I love her."

Hedwig hooted a response and stuck out her leg for him to strap the letter on.

"Thanks, girl"

And when the night wind,

Starts to sing a lonesome lullaby,

It helps to think we're

sleeping under the same big sky.

Hermione received Harry's latest letter and tore it open eagerly. It started off normally enough but then she read something that startled her:
Hermione, I know that I've been writing you a lot lately, and here's why: I love you Hermione. I realized how much I loved you last year when you were in love with Ron. It drove me absolutely crazy, but you were so in love with him, I didn't think you'd want to hear about how much I loved you. When Ron didn't love you back, I was sad for you, yet glad that I wouldn't have to see you two together.

If you share my feelings please send me a letter back A.S.A.P. If you don't return my feelings, just send Hedwig back. I will know then you wish to remain just friends.

Love,

Harry

Hermione grabbed her quill and began writing a note as quickly as possible.

Somewhere out there,

If love can see us through,

Then we'll be together,

Somewhere out there,

Out where dreams come true...

Hedwig came soaring through the window, and Harry looked to she if she carried a return letter for him. To his joy, she did. Harry tore open the letter and began reading, a huge grin on his face.

Harry,

I love you too Harry. That whole Ron thing was just to get you to tell me how you felt about me. I gave up hope when you didn't mention any feelings for me. This entire summer I was hoping that you kept writing because you liked me. I don't know what else to say, but I love you.

Love,

Hermione
