Ginny couldn't sit still all day. She could not focus in any of her classes. She just kept thinking about what Draco had whispered in her ear that morning. And then he kissed her cheek. What he had said was arrogant, but what did she honestly expect? What he said surprised her and excited her and chilled her to the bone.
I want you Ginny, he had whispered to her. Meet me in my dorm an hour after curfew.
And then he kissed her cheek and walked away.
She was excited, but nervous. This was happening so fast, but she really didn't care. She had made up her mind to meet him that night. She didn't know what would happen, although she had a pretty good idea of his intentions, but she just really wanted some private time with him where no one else could see or hear them.
After her final class ended at five, she ran up to the Gryffindor sixth-year girl's dormitory and changed. Curfew was at eight o'clock, so she still had four hours to meet him. She rummaged through her belongings and looked for something to wear.
This was the first time in months that she had cared about her appearance, other than a few days prior in the village with Draco. He did something to her - made her want to look good, made her feel good again about herself. She was feeling comfortable in her own skin, and she was unbelievably giddy. The way he made her feel had been showing through in everything she had done and said in the last week, and even Ron noticed.
"What's with you, Gin?" he asked her the other day at dinner. "You keep smiling at your roast."
She looked up at him and smiled. "I guess I've just been in a good mood lately is all," she answered him simply. "Nothing really has changed."
Her answer seemed to be satisfactory, but she knew that he would not be okay with her skipping dinner tonight, which she was planning to do. She had every intention of spending the next four hours getting ready to spend some time alone with Draco.

At dinnertime in the Great Hall, Ron was looking around for his sister.
"Have you guys seen Ginny?" he asked, to no one in particular.
Immediately Harry's eyes rose to the Slytherin table. When he realized that Draco was there accompanied by his friends and not Ginny, he relaxed slightly. He wasn't going to be the one to tell Ron that they Ginny was spending time with Malfoy, but he had every intention of keeping an eye on her.
"No, I haven't seen her since breakfast," Hermione answered. "Maybe she had some studying to do and lost track of time?" she offered.
Ron shrugged and glanced at Harry, who was being unusually quiet. "You alright mate?" he asked of his friend. "Something on your mind?"
"Not at all."

Draco was sitting with his usual gang in the Great Hall at dinner. He noticed immediately that Ginny was not present. He could always notice her in a crowd, he realized. Although she was small, her fiery hair and her emerald eyes shot through any group of people. She couldn't hide if she tried.
"So, did I give you gentleman the update?" he asked of his friends in a cocky voice. They shook their heads at him and looked very interested. "Miss Weasley is coming to my room tonight, an hour after curfew."
Draco's face was smug on the outside, but truthfully he was feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. He knew what he had said to her, and he knew that if he wanted to win the bet he'd have to sleep with her, but he did not know what to do really. He had no experience of the sort, and really didn't know if Ginny did. He knew she had had a few boyfriends, but he hadn't cared enough to scope out any details of her past relationships until recently. Instead he figured he could just ask her if he really wanted to know.
He wondered where his favorite girl was, when Blaise's smug voice snapped him back to reality. "You think you're going to seal the deal tonight?" he asked.
"That's the plan," Draco said in a haughty manner.
He regretted saying anything because their discussion made him feel worse, for a whole lot of reasons.

At 8:30 that evening, Ginny was dressed in her best. She had on a snuggly fitting pair of dark blue jeans that showed off her every curve. She also wore a black top with sleeves that hung delicately off of her shoulders and clung gently to her slender frame. Her fiery hair was styled into delicate, gentle waves that fell across her back. A clip was placed in her hair that was shaped like a butterfly and was studded with emeralds. She thought Draco would like it because he had indicated more than once that he thought she had beautiful eyes. Not wanting any suspicions to arise, she placed the biggest, heaviest cloak she owned around herself and walked down into the common room.
She waited for Harry and Hermione to leave and patrol the halls for students who were up after hours. After they left, she slipped out the portrait hole when no one was looking and kept to the shadows.
By the time she reached his room it was past nine. She realized during her sneaking that she did not know where the Slytherin common room was, but did know that his Prefect dorm would be right outside of it. Her plan, then, was to look for other Slytherin Prefects and follow them.
Her plan worked, but she was late meeting him. By almost thirty minutes.

Draco sat on his bed, then stood up and paced. Then he decided to sit down again, but shortly thereafter decided that simply sitting was too nerve-wracking. He began to pace again.
Like Ginny, he had dressed himself in his absolute best attire. He had on light blue jeans and a black button-down shirt with long sleeves. It was very rare that Draco wore muggle clothes, especially ones that were so casual, but he had decided to in this instance because he did not want to seem too off-putting and formal to her.
She's late, he thought anxiously. She's not coming. She's late and she's not coming.
He heard a soft knock at his bedroom door and opened it slowly.
Ginny stood outside his door with a huge, black cloak wrapped around her thin frame. He opened the door wider and said, "Come in."
She smiled and stepped through the door. He looked down the hall each way to make sure no one was there or had seen her enter his bedroom. Satisfied, he shut the door with a gently click and turned to face Ginny. Once inside, she immediately dropped the cloak she had draped around her and set it down on the chair beside the bed.
"Sorry I'm late," she said, smiling at him.
He smiled, a very sincere and un-Draco smile, and said, "You're beautiful." And he meant it.

Hermione and Harry patrolled the halls of Hogwarts. They had had a very uneventful night, as they had seen no students out of bed.
"Spill," she said to him suddenly. "What do you know about Ginny?"
He was taken aback by this question, not sure how he should answer it. "What do you mean?" he asked nervously.
Hermione snorted. "Harry, I'm not stupid," she said lightly. "Why has she been so happy lately? Did you two get back together?" she added hopefully.
"No," he said quickly. "I think she is seeing someone." Hermione looked at him, expecting him to go on. Although he knew perfectly well who she was seeing, he instead said, "But I don't know who."
His friend seemed somewhat satisfied with this, and continued on with the conversation.
"I wonder who it is," she continued aloud. "Maybe it's someone who isn't in Gryffindor and she doesn't want to tell us yet."
"Could be," said Harry nervously.
"Hmm. I wonder."
*****
Ginny stood by the bed for several minutes, staring at Draco.
He thinks I'm beautiful.
He walked gracefully toward her and ran his fingers through her hair. He touched her butterfly clip. "Emeralds," he whispered. "They match your eyes."
I knew it, she thought triumphantly.
On the outside, however, she just smiled.
But it wasn't just any smile, Draco noted. It was the kind of smile someone had when they were genuinely happy.
They looked at each other for a long time. Draco's grey eyes were so light, but they pierced through her like a knife. She felt as though he could see through her, see her thoughts. She bit her lip nervously as he put a finger beneath her chin and tilted it back gently.
"I thought you'd forgotten me," he said quietly, "when you didn't come here on time."
She shook her head slightly. "I could never forget you, Draco," she answered sweetly.
He leaned toward her and her lips parted slightly. She gasped as she felt his lips on hers. He tasted like fire and ice - it was a sensation that she had never experienced when kissing a boy before. Her knees buckled as he deepened the kiss. He moved one hand to the small of her back and the other gently traced a line up and down the front of her body. She had her arms wrapped around his neck tightly, and when his hands touched her, she only pulled him tighter.
She gasped for air as he moved his mouth to her neck. She pressed her hands onto his chest as she flung her head back. He kissed her neck and her throat and moved his hands to her back to steady her. He moved his hands to her waist and gently picked her up and placed her on his bed.
He backed away slowly and looked at the girl he had been kissing. She had her eyes closed and a lazy smile on her face. He smiled at her.
She opened her eyes, and her emerald green ones locked with his pale grey ones.
"What are you waiting for?" she asked gently. Her voice was quiet and sultry, and it made Draco want her even more.
He knelt down in front of the bed where she was sitting. He placed his hands on the bed, on either side of where she was sitting. He said, gently but firmly, "Are you sure you want to do this?"
She stood up, and to Draco's great surprise, she lifted her black top over her head and walked over to him. Her black bra was so dark against her pale skin, and she looked so sexy. She put her hands on his chest and slowly unbuttoned his shirt, looking him in the eyes the entire time. She pushed the shirt off of his shoulders and kissed him softly.
"Do it," she whispered in his ear.
He stared at her for a long moment, before he quickly lifted the fiery-headed girl and practically through her on the bed, and he jumped on the bed after her. She threw her head back in ecstasy as Draco began to do things to her that felt so good she couldn't comprehend.
*****
It was past eleven.
Hermione yawned, "Harry, let's go back. There hasn't been a student out of bed all night besides us!"
He smiled and reached in his pocket, pulling out an old piece of parchment.
"We'll see," he said, grinning.
Hermione rolled her eyes.
The Marauder's Map.
He tapped his wand to it and said, "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good."
Suddenly, a detailed map of Hogwarts and every student in the building appeared. Most students were in their beds, a few were still in their common rooms. He glanced around the Gryffindor House and noticed that Ginny was not in either place.
"Ginny," he whispered aloud. He glanced at the Slytherin House and saw that the two of them were alone in Draco's private dormitory, three hours past curfew. "No, NO."
He raced down the hall holding the map and ran toward the Slytherin House. He stood outside the Slytherin Prefect's dorm and waited for Hermione to catch up to him.
Breathlessly, she whispered, "Draco?"
Harry nodded.
"You knew?" she asked again. "Harry, you knew and you didn't tell us?"
"I didn't think this would happen," he answered sharply.
"I have to get Ron," she said, and began walking.
"No," he said firmly. She stopped and watched as he began pounding on the door to the boy's dormitory.

Ginny gasped as she and Draco had, together, reached a point of pleasure that she had never experienced in her life. He lay on top of her, head resting against her bare chest. The two of them were covered in sweat, and they both were breathing rapidly.
Only moments ago, she was screaming his name and he was screaming hers. She scratched her nails down his back and pulled at his hair while he bit into her milky white skin. In unison, they had finished, and now they were relaxing into the blissful calmness that came next.
He kissed her softly, and she moaned into his mouth.
"Oh, Draco," she said softly. "Oh Draco, that was amazing."
He smiled at her. "You were perfect," he said. He turned and lay on his side beside her and turned her toward him. He ran a hand through her red hair as he propped himself up on his elbow. The butterfly was the only thing that she had been wearing at that point, and he gently removed it and set it on the nightstand beside the bed.
He opened his mouth to say something to her, when there was a knock at the door. It was not a friendly knock, but a demanding one.
They heard, "Draco fucking Malfoy, open this damn door - NOW!"
"Harry, oh God," she said, sitting up, covering her bare chest with his black satin sheets.
"And Ginny, I know you're in there. Now OPEN THE DAMN DOOR."
Draco and Ginny dressed as quickly as possible, and Draco slowly opened the door. Harry stormed in the room, followed by a very anxious-looking Hermione.
Harry glanced around the room. The two of them were clothed, but soaked with sweat, and the sheets on Draco's bed were tangled. And beside the bed he noticed the butterfly clip that Ginny had been wearing earlier in the common room.
Harry's normally green eyes turned almost black.
"Well?" he demanded. "What have you got to say for yourselves?"
