He was a lying, evil, conniving Slytherin, and she was going to tell him exactly that, as soon as she could find him. Of course, if she was honest with herself, she had to accept some of the blame. A girl shouldn't believe what a boy says when he is trying to get into her pants. But wait, that line of thought wasn't any good. She needed to stay mad. If she stayed good and mad, she could hex him to death, and then go have a good cry.

Ginny ground her teeth together as she stomped along the stone hallways. He had to be around here somewhere. She had seen the Prefect schedule in Hermione's bag, and he was supposed to be on duty tonight. Where in the hell was he? She was about to turn down a random corridor when she heard a woman moan. Merlin, she did not want to accidentally interrupt a couple shagging, so she started to back up. That was when she heard something that made her knees threaten to give out. The woman was moaning a name, the same name that she herself had moaned two nights ago.

Ginny ran down a corridor to get away from the moaning voice, and then she slumped against the wall as tears slid down her face. She couldn't pretend anymore. She couldn't pretend that it meant something. She couldn't really even pretend that he had tricked her into believing he cared. He had told her straight out what he wanted from her, and asked her how he could get it. She should have turned her back on him and walked away, but instead she had advised him to tell her what every woman wants to hear.

He had been eloquent. He had been poetic. He had compared her hair to a living flame, and he had told her that she was beautiful. He had told her what she wanted to hear, what she needed to hear, to let him touch her. She just hadn't bargained on the fact that she would believe his lies. Maybe if he hadn't looked directly into her eyes as he spoke, she wouldn't have believed him.

Maybe if he had just gotten up and walked away when the physical act was over, she wouldn't have gotten so sucked in. But, he had stayed. He had stayed, and he had told her about his fears and dreams, and he had asked about hers. It had been a nice touch really, adding that bit at the end. It had made her believe all of the things that he said before. She believed that he had watched her for years. She believed when he said that he wasn't good enough for her, but that they would give it a try. She had believed it all, and then she had woken up alone.

The next morning, she still had some hope. At breakfast, when she sought out his eyes across the Great Hall, he had looked right through her. She held out hope that maybe he just didn't want to acknowledge her in front of other people. But then, he didn't owl her, and he didn't secretly pass her a note when he walked by her in the hallway. He just treated her like she was invisible.

She would have preferred it if he had ridiculed her, or smirked at her, but he just ignored her. By the end of the second day, it was too much to bear. Maybe she was a glutton for punishment, but she needed to hear it from his own lips. She needed to hear that it meant nothing, and that she meant nothing to him. She needed to hear him say those awful things before she could truly believe it. It was the only way that she could move on.

The sound of approaching footsteps brought Ginny out of her reverie. She looked up and saw him striding towards her. "Ginny, what's wrong?"

Ginny stood up and looked at him in disbelief. "I'm upset. I walked by, and I heard what you were doing back there. I realize you are done with me, but I wasn't prepared to hear you shagging someone else."

Draco walked forward and put his finger under her chin. "I don't know what you're talking about. Tell me why you're upset."

Something inside of Ginny's head exploded, and she started pummeling his chest. "I am having a hard time realizing that you didn't mean any of what you said the other night. I am not dealing well with hearing some other girl moan your name. Why is that so hard to understand?"

Draco grabbed Ginny's hands and pulled her to his chest. "Ginny, didn't you get my note? I asked you to meet me last night. When you didn't show, I figured you weren't interested."

Ginny looked up at Draco. "What note? I didn't get a note."

Draco frowned. "I gave it to Hermione. I thought she was your friend."

Ginny scowled. "She's my brother's friend, not mine. She never gave me the note."

Draco kissed her on the forehead. "I meant all of those things I said. Do you believe me?"

Ginny swiped at her eyes with his robe, and was amazed that he didn't yell at her for using him like a handkerchief. "I guess if you let me wipe my face on your robes, you really do care about me."

Draco smiled and leaned down to kiss her. Ginny stiffened in his arms and pushed him away. "Who were you just with?"

Draco glared at her. "I was not with anyone. I've been on Prefect duty all night."

Ginny frowned. "Then who was moaning your name?"

"I don't know. Where did you hear this delusional woman?"

Ginny frowned and pointed back down the hall. Draco took her hand and started leading her down the hallway. He froze when he saw Pansy walking towards him with Zabini. "Good lord Zabini, have you no pride?"

Pansy smiled at Draco. "Some people aren't as opposed to my role playing games as you were."

Zabini chuckled at the look of horror on Draco's face and said, "She let's me call her Granger."

Draco turned to look at Ginny. "I almost feel like passing that bit of information on to Granger since she tried to keep us apart."

Ginny smiled as she looked at Draco. "It was all real. You meant all of it?"

Draco leaned down and kissed her on the forehead as he murmured, "It was all real. I meant all of it. You get to decide whom to tell. But, I really hope you let me be there when you tell your brother."

Ginny smiled at Draco. "You are an evil, conniving Slytherin."

Draco smiled. "But I am not a liar."
