Love and Hate

As Hermione walked through the corridors, she was thinking of how she could get rid of Harry...for good. She forgot about Ron until he came running up to her, with a box in his hand shaped like a heart. She was wondering what the box was for but something told her that it had something to do with her.

"Hey Hermy!" Ron said with anxiety. "What's up? Where have you been? I've been looking everywhere for you. I need to tell you something."

"Okay Ron, well what is the box for?" asked Hermione afraid of what the answer would be.

"Umm, these are for someone special, I am going to leave them in her dorm tonight with a note," said Ron.

"Okay I will just see you in the Great Hall tonight because I have to do some research," said Hermione.

"About what? It's Christmas break!" screamed Ron.

"It's for that umm... something that happened and I want to research what that something is!" said Hermione.

"Okay... see you in the Great Hall at dinner!" Ron grinned looking her with a boyish grin on his face.

Hermione felt bad, because Ron didn't know the truth about her and she didn't want to break his heart. She saw that boyish grin and felt uncomfortable.

As she went into the library, a new librarian was there. She had been there for no more then 2 hours and didn't know the rules about not letting the students into the Restricted Section. As Hermione passed the library, she realized this and took advantage of the opportunity. She passed by the new librarian and smiled. She hurriedly walked to the Restricted Section carefully. She skimmed all of the books, even using a charm to make themselves float for a few minutes to see the books on the top shelf. After 2 1/2 hours searching she got tired and sat down. She rested her back on one of the shelves and a book fell on top of her head. "Ouch!" she exclaimed. She was about to put it back when she noticed the title:

"Yes!" she thought and quickly borrowed the book. After quickly skimming the book, she hurriedly went back to Gryffindor Tower and stuffed the book insider her bag as she approached the Fat Lady. Violet was fixing the Fat Lady's hair as they prepared for their daily workout. "Stublode!" Hermione said hurriedly. As the portrait swung open, Hermione fell in, the weight of that one book was quite heavy. She went to her dormitory and luckily, no one was there. She stuffed her bag with her book inside her trunk and preformed a special locking charm. Then she heard her stomach growl and realized what time it was. She hurried off to the Great Hall and sat down between Harry and Ron.

While she was eating, she saw Cho get up and walk over to the Gryffindor table, probably to talk to Harry, as she came closer, Hermione got weak in the knees. Her brain froze and her spoon stopped in mid-air and the soup poured on her robe.

"HERMIONE...you have soup on your robe! You're such a dumb ass," Ron said jokingly with the same boyish grin looking at Hermione's robe where the soup had fallen.

Hermione snapped out of it. By then, Cho was sitting on Harry's lap and feeding him. Hermione was about to gag herself when Ron started wiping the soup off of her robe with the same boyish grin and turning quite red, almost as red as his own hair.

As Ron was doing that, Fred, George, Dean, Seamus, Lee, Lavender, and Parvati with the rest of the Gryffindor table was giggling except for Neville who buried his nose in the treacle tart and then said, "I have to go wash my face because my grandma said that if I don't wash my face then I will get pimples." That made the whole Gryffindor table burst with laughter. They all know that Neville was too innocent to see Ron wiping soup off Hermione's robe and Cho feeding Harry all in one sitting.

Hermione felt Ron wiping the soup off of her robe and exploded, "Ronald Weasley! What the hell do you think you are doing?! Get your freaking hands off of me!!"

"I'm sorry I was just trying to help, you were like zoned out or something," said Ron turning a deeper shade of scarlet.

"Sorry Ron I didn't to blow up at you, you were just touching a little to far up," Hermione explained.

"Oh I'm sorry I didn't know..." said Ron grinning like he knew what he did and was proud of it.

"Well I have to go I have to finish my research, remember Ron? The research I was telling you about in the corridor?" said Hermione.

"Oh yeah well I will see you later! Bye Hermy!" yelled Ron. By then, the whole Gryffindor table was on the floor with laugher.

Harry and Cho didn't even notice what happened. They were living in their own world but were brought back to reality when pork roast flew past Cho's face.

As Hermione was walking up to Gryffindor Tower, she was thinking how she could get rid of him...FAST! Then it hit her, The Killing Curse. She could make it fast and easy, no one would ever know it was her. People would think that the Chamber of Secrets is open again. It would be perfect. Plus, she was a Muggle, she would be one of the last people Dumbledore would suspect, plus she was one of his good friends. This would work out perfectly. Hermione was smiling and the Fat Lady asked, "What are you smiling about? What is the password?"

"Oh I'm sorry, umm Stublode," Hermione said hurriedly. She didn't want to waste any more time practicing the AK. (The Killing Curse)

As she walked into dormitory, she heard footsteps. She thought to herself, "Oh no! What if someone found my book!?!" she ran into her dormitory and saw Alicia and Fred snogging on her bed. Alicia opened her eyes and broke off from the kiss, Fred looked quite confused and then looked up.

"What are you doing here Hermione!?" yelled Alicia.

"This is MY dormitory, and Fred this is the GIRL'S dormitory, Alicia, your dormitory is the next one, remember?! Can't you read? 6th year GIRLS!?" Hermione said looking impatient.

Alicia went up to the door and read it, "Oopsies, sorry about that, come on Fred lets go into my dormitory...the nerve of some people," she said looking at Hermione.

Fred said, "What's the crime? We were only snogging! As if you haven't done it with Ron in the Quidditch dressing rooms!"

"I was helping him find..." she was cut off in the middle of her sentence by Fred's laugher.

"Oh come off it Hermione! We all know you and Ron have a thing going! You know he fancies you! We all know you fancy him so why are you two so afraid to admit it!?" said Fred as he was dragged into the next dormitory.

Hermione was so annoyed. She shouted, "Shut the hell up Fred!"

But there was no response, she supposed that they continued their snogging session, she would have to find a way to get back at both of them but not right now, she had to plan on killing Harry before it got too serious with him and Cho.

She went to her trunk and said, "Alohomora!" and the trunk popped open revealing the book. She locked the door and opened the book. Sure enough, on page 365 there was The Killing Curse. She read the whole chapter to make sure it wasn't too complicated. She read more books to help her plan on what she was going to do. She had her whole plan figured out...and Harry was going to help her.

The night before she was going to do her plan, she could hardly sit still in class. She was too excited; she ran the plan over in her head to make sure there would be nothing wrong. In Charms class, Professor Flitwick taught them a charm on how to freeze time momentarily; she would have to use that. The plan was: She was going to ask Harry for the invisibility cloak. Then, leave Harry a note to meet Cho outside Moaning Myrtle's Bathroom where Mrs. Norris was found petrified when the Chamber was open. When Harry arrives, she would use the charm to freeze time momentarily, enough to perform AK and write something on the corridor wall. It is perfect.

That night, she left Harry a note that looked like this:

Harry,

Please meet me in the corridor outside of Moaning Myrtle's Bathroom. I really need to see you. Meet me there at 8:00 tonight and please don't be late. I really need you to be there for me. Something horrible happened and I really need someone to talk to.. Please be there.

In the Gryffindor common room, Harry was playing chess with Ron and Hermione came up to them and asked, "Hey Harry can I borrow your invisibility cloak for a while?"

"Sure Mione...what for?" asked Harry not taking his eyes off the chess set.

"I want to sneak into the kitchen, I didn't really get a good dinner so I want to get something to eat," explained Hermione.

"Why are you going there? Trying to get the house-elves to ask for a raise? Or maybe vacations? OH MY GOD! Hermione GRANGER-12 N.E.W.T. student and 32 O.W.L.'s? Wanting to break the rules? Now I've seen everything," said Ron with amazement.

Hermione smirked, "Yes, me, I figured that I can't go 7 years without breaking 1 rule and not getting caught! I can't go 7 years without a detention either so I might as well..." said Hermione annoyingly like she was showing off her perfect record.

"Okay you can borrow it, it is in my trunk under my bed," said Harry on the floor laughing at what Ron said.

"OH THANK YOU HARRY!" she said as she leaped up, hugged Harry (For the last time) and kissed Ron on the cheek.

As she hurriedly ran off to the Boy's Dormitory, Ron was about to faint, he couldn't breathe, his brain froze and everybody was staring at him, including Harry who was on the floor. Hermione..Hermione Granger who he had liked since the 5th year had just kissed him...on the cheek, "I'm never going to wash this cheek again...EVER"

Harry stopped laughing long enough to say, "You fancy Hermione don't you!?! I knew it! Well anyways, everybody knows it anyways, so no one is surprised, plus you never wash your face anyway!" then continued laughing.

While this was going on, Neville was studying Herbology and as he saw Hermione hug Harry and kiss Ron her ran behind Seamus' robe and started saying, "Mandrakes..Devil's Snare..Mandrakes fully matured...NO NO NO! Gillyweed...is it done? Can I come out now because I'm too young to see that kind of contact!" He poked his head outside of Seamus' robe and said in a baby voice, "Is it over?" Then everyone started laughing all over again.

While that was happening in the common room, Hermione was setting up everything, the note on the pillow and the invisibility cloak. As she came downstairs with the invisibility cloak, she went unnoticed out of the portrait hole. She slipped the invisibility cloak over her head and went off to the corridor.

While she was walking to the corridor, Harry got up and went to his dormitory. There, he saw the note and read it. After he got done, he hurriedly ran outside of the portrait hole bumping into Ron, "Harry where are you going? It's late! You might get points off from Gryffindor!" But Harry didn't answer.

Harry was too worried about Cho to answer whatever Ron said. He thought to himself, "If only he hadn't let Hermione borrow the invisibility cloak this would be a lot less dangerous but oh well all I care about is getting to Cho."

Hermione was getting everything ready. She practiced the freezing charm on Moaning Myrtle for the last time. She got her want ready and before she knew it, she heard Harry coming down the corridor, panting and out of breathe. He screamed, "CHO! WHERE ARE YOU! CHO!" Then it all froze.

Harry was at the exact place where Mrs. Norris was found Petrified in their 2nd year which was good, thought Hermione. Hermione did the charm and everything froze. "I have to hurry," thought Hermione. "I cannot do this charm very well and I don't want to stop working right when I perform the curse." She aimed her want and bellowed, "AVADA KEDRAVA!! AVADA KEDRAVA!!" a flash of green light came from Hermione's wand and she flew backwards. The dust settled and there was Harry, flat dead, green eyes lifeless and his body limp. He laid there motionless and stiff, Hermione couldn't believe her plan worked. She was happy but at the same time sad. She had lost one of her best friends but gained the love of her life, Cho Chang. Then she took her wand and scrawled on the corridor wall right above Harry's dead motionless body. She wrote:

The Chamber of Secrets is opened again...

This time I did not fail to kill Harry Potter

Be afraid!

Hermione ran to the kitchens and got some apple cider and muffins for Ron so no one would suspect a thing. Then, went back to the sight of Harry's death to see if anyone had found him yet. Mrs. Norris was there sniffing around and soon Filch would be there too so she better get out of there.

Hermione rushed back to the Common Room where Fred and George had just gotten back from sneaking into Hogsmeade and everyone was having butterbeer with Bertie Bott's Every Flavor beans. Hermione took off the invisibility cloak and Ron said, "SO! What did you get from the kitchen?" he asked.

"Oh I got you some muffins and me some apple cider. Do you want the muffins?" asked Hermione.

"OHH! YAY! Muffins!" Ron ran to Hermione to get the muffins. "Thank you!" said Ron with his mouth full.

Then when everyone had finished the butterbeer and snacks, people were starting to head to bed. "RON! Put Harry's invisibility cloak back in the dormitory for him, I can't go up there anymore, where did he go anyways?" asked Hermione.

"I don't know, I hope he didn't get caught by Snape or Filch. He would be doing big time detention if he did," said Ron.

Right then, Professor McGonagall burst in the room. Everybody froze and wondered who did what. Everybody looked at Fred and George and they said, "We didn't do anything this time! We're innocent!" they said.

"Get everyone in the common room! Something terrible has happened." Said McGonagall with tears running down her cheeks.

When everyone was settled down, they were wondering what happened, they had never seen Professor McGonagall like this, and they had never seen McGonagall cry before either. McGonagall announced, "Our dearest and beloved friend and fellow Gryffindor has died."

Everyone started whispering, "Who? Who?" and all of the Weasleys bunched together making sure that everyone was there. Then Ron shouted, "WAIT! WHERE'S HARRY?!"

McGonagall continued, "It seems that our fellow Gryffindor, Harry Potter has been killed by the Killing Curse, the Chamber of Secrets has been opened again."

Collin Creevey asked through painful sobs, "How could he die of the killing curse? He resisted it when he was a baby? And Voldemort isn't here, is he??"

Anxious whispers spread throughout the common room. Then McGonagall stated, "I don't know how he didn't survive it now. We just have to go to sleep and talk about it tomorrow morning. You will not have classes tomorrow; it will be a Day of Mourning. Good night and go to sleep. The heads of the houses have gone and told their house, everybody knows, good night and don't stay up too late," she said as she exited the common room.

Hermione thought, "So Cho knows, and tomorrow I will have to face her...and I will comfort her. She will be in my arms."

No one really slept last night; anyone who did fall asleep fell asleep in the common room with everyone else. Everyone was just too scared and too sad to go anywhere else. It was mostly the 1st years who fell asleep because they just didn't know everything but they were still scared.

Ron was the most affected of all, he started screaming and hollering. He threw a temper-tantrum when Ginny asked him to move. Ron shouted, "How can you think of me moving when Harry is dead???"
