This is just a thought that popped into my head one day (and then wouldn't leave). I'd like to thank Silver Dove and ms-hufflepuff for being my betas. If you'd like to email me: [email protected]

Sirius caught Remus' eye from across the room. The gloss over Remus' pupils said more to Sirius than Remus would have dared to speak in such a setting. Molly's food was excellent, as always, but Sirius didn't care to enjoy it at the moment. There was something else he would much rather have. Remus was casually making his way over, and Sirius wondered if they could possibly slip away from the party unnoticed. Scant seconds later, Remus was beside him--practically breathing on his neck. Sirius felt his face grow hot, and desperately wanted to get out of the kitchen.

"Enjoying the party?" Remus whispered, and Sirius shivered as warm breath misted into his ear.

"Yes."

"Well Ron and Hermione have certainly earned it. Prefect badges aren't easy to come by. It's nice to celebrate." Remus' lips actually grazed his ear on 'come by.' Sirius' face cooled as his blood rushed south.

"Absolutely," he agreed. His lips were suddenly dry, and he licked them with a tongue that seemed to be twice the size it should have been.

"Any reason is a good reason to celebrate, don't you think?" Remus was asking far more than just his opinion of the party, and when Remus' fingers ghosted down Sirius' back to rest on his arse, his trousers became unbearably tight. Gods, he wanted to leave now. He was so caught up in how much he wanted Remus inside him that he couldn't even contemplate a coherent response.

"Shall we celebrate?" Remus' voice was lilting, as if he were teasing Sirius. Sirius managed a small nod, and Remus began leading him out of the kitchen. Out of the corner of his eye Sirius thought he saw Moody give them a sideways glance, but when he looked over, Moody was talking to Harry and Sirius thought he must have imagined it.

Sirius watched Remus walk up the stairs ahead of him, and thought wonderful thoughts about the arse that was hidden under that threadbare jacket. As soon as they were up the first flight, Sirius couldn't stand it any longer and pulled Remus into the sitting room. He kissed Remus forcefully, and Remus retaliated by biting Sirius' lips. The kiss broke off, and Sirius' eyes rolled up in his head as Remus pulled their groins together and attacked Sirius' neck with his mouth. Sirius was panting harshly when Remus stepped back.

"We should at least try to make it to your bedroom," Remus said, although his voice, lust-filled and husky, said that he had half a mind to get naked in the sitting room.

"Sure, we can try," Sirius replied, thinking that no one was likely to notice them with the party going on downstairs.

Remus straightened their clothing a bit before going back into the hallway. Sirius followed close behind.

They had reached the second floor landing when they heard someone crying. They followed the sound to the drawing room, where they found Mrs Weasley huddled in a corner while Harry tried to calm her down. Sirius didn't listen to all that was said, but he watched as the boggart that had been a dead Harry moments before became a silvery orb, and then vanished with Remus' spell. Sirius stayed like that for a long moment--just staring at the floor where "Harry" had been lying seconds before.

His lust evaporated, and he felt clammy at what he had seen. It was real; terrifyingly real; even if it wasn't real. Remus was trying to comfort Molly, and Moody came stumping into the room--pushing Sirius, who was blocking the doorway, aside. Sirius jerked out of his stupor and backed himself against the nearest wall. He licked his lips, with anxiety this time, and thought about how he had never noticed how worried Molly was.

Eventually Molly pulled herself back together, and one by one the room emptied.

Remus took Sirius by the arm and steered him into the corridor, upstairs toward his bedroom. As they walked, Sirius considered the fact that he hadn't even noticed that Moody had followed them. He supposed it hardly mattered now, but it was unsettling.

When they came to Remus' bedroom, Sirius sat down on the bed and leaned back against the headboard. Remus picked a book up off his nightstand and started reading. Sirius closed his eyes and took deep breaths, thinking it strange how so many things go unnoticed.
