Chapter 2: The Day After

Hermione woke up to find herself undressed in Harry's arms.

"Bloody hell!! Harry, wake up," she said, shaking him and getting up.

"Hmm," he said, opening his eyes to find Hermione half clothed and himself completely undressed in her bed. "Umm, this can't be good. What do you say we don't tell anyone about this because, well, I mean. Hermione, what happened last night was amazing but I love Draco and this would make him completely paranoid. I mean and I know that you love Ron and, umm, we both know he'd kill me."

"Harry, shut up, you're babbling like an idiot. Of course, I love Ron, which is why you're right. Nobody can ever know about this. Ron would be murderous. He'd never forgive you or me. Harry, what have we done?" she asked, starting to freak out.

"Okay, it's possible. You do get crazier, I'm glad is Ron who has to deal with you and not me," he said.

She glared evilly at him.

"What?" he asked, batting his eyelashes innocently.

"It's not amusing right now, Potter," she said, a tear starting to fall down her cheeks.

He pulled her to him in a hug, "Oh, Hermione, I'm sorry. Everything is going to be okay. Nobody ever has to know. As far as everybody else is concerned we watched an American movie and looked at gorgeous guys in magazines."

"Thanks, Harry. I really love Ron and I don't want to lose him," she said, wiping her eyes with her sleeve. "I'm also worried about what this is going to do to our friendship," she said, looking at him with eyes full of concern.

"We'll be fine, 'Mione. It didn't really mean anything. I mean, it was basically an accident. We were drunk and we're just friends. Think about it, you're not going to tell anyone because I know how you feel about Ron and I'm not going to tell anyone. I mean now that I've found him, I can't imagine losing Draco. It seems funny to say that after all those years of hating him, though I suppose it was never really hate," he said with a twinkle in his eye.

"You're right. Well, we have to get ready to go. The train leaves in two hours. You can go take a shower in my parent's main bathroom."

The two friends got ready and went off to the station. In the car, Harry reminded Hermione to act natural and that no one would be suspicious. Not that she needed reminding once she saw Ron; he consumed her attention and thoughts.

He walked up to her, took her into his arms, kissed her gently and made her shiver at the sweet taste of his lips. When he broke away he asked, "Did you have fun yesterday? I know you two haven't been able to talk much lately."

"Yes, my dearest. But I would have had more if you would have been there," she said with a mischievous grin.

"I've missed you," he said, kissing her again and pulling her close.

"I've missed you too," she replied, when he pulled away.

She looked up and saw Draco walk up to Harry. She saw him bend down, take Harry into his arms, and tilt his chin to meet his lips in a long kiss. The crowd went almost completely silent; several people gasped horrified.

Hermione grinned at the couple. "Looks like somebody's decided to tell the truth," she said, pointing the couple out to Ron.

He shuddered at the sight. "Yes, I guess so. It's so hard to think of the famous Harry Potter, my best friend, a guy I've shared a room with the last 6 years being gay. It's bloody ridiculous."

"Ron, if it makes him happy we should let him be. It's not as if his life isn't hard enough. Besides, he's not trying to interrupt us is he?" she replied warily.

"But we make sense," he sighed. "Well, we had better get on the train," he said, taking her arm and leading her to an empty compartment.

They sat down and he kissed her again sweetly, pulling her as close as he could in the train seat and running his fingers through her long hair. Suddenly they heard someone drawl, "Well Weasley got the girl right where you want her, eh?" Draco stood in the doorway of the compartment with a sly grin on his face.

Ron pulled away. "Malfoy," he spat, with a glare in Draco's direction.

Trying to ease the tension, Hermione piped in, "Looks like you've got Harry where you want him too, Draco."

"Hermione!" Harry said, his face suddenly matching Ron's hair.

"Are you ashamed of something, Potter?" Draco said, looking playfully into Harry's eyes.

"Not a thing," he said, standing on tiptoes to kiss Draco on the nose.

"Gross, Harry," Ron said harshly.

"Hey Weasley, we don't complain when you kiss your little girlfriend do we?" Draco said, trying to appeal to Ron.

"You two are hopeless," Hermione said, pulling out of Ron's embrace. She looked at her boyfriend and then up at her best friend's boyfriend. She looked up into Ron's eyes and said, "I am not coming near you until you agree to attempt a friendship with Draco."

"What?!" Ron exclaimed, his ears starting to tinge pink with anger.

"You heard what I said Ronald Weasley. If you don't at least agree to be civil towards Draco, I will not come near you. He's the love of your best friend's life, you should at least try to get to know him a little," she said with a pouty smile.

"Oh Hermione, you know I can't resist that smile," he said, sitting still for a minute and thinking. He looks at Hermione, trying to use his charm.

She gives him a determined look and he sighs.

"Alright then," he said, standing up. He reluctantly reached his hand out toward Draco, "I'm sorry I've been so horrible, and I would like to attempt civility between the two of us."

"Whipped are we Weasley?" Draco asked, smiling and taking Ron's hand.

Hermione kissed Ron's cheek sighing, "I guess that'll do for now."

"Only on a good day, Malfoy," he said smiling and pulling Hermione in for a sweet kiss as the train pulled off. "Only on a good day."
