~*~*~*~*~
The tears hit the page with a plop, and the words bled. Harry understood the pain of bleeding words. He bled too, and there was nothing he could do about it. He closed the book and looked up at the sky, in a rare show of brilliance the sun had come out in full regalia, but a harsh breeze danced around Harry as he pulled his cloak tighter over his shoulders. He quietly traced the golden words that spelled out the title of the book Hermione gave him. He looked up to see Draco Malfoy laughing with a bunch of Slytherins, the site of his happiness, of Draco's malicious joy, made him that much sadder. He looked longingly at the sun, and waited for the clouds to cover it, they always did. He was still tracing over the words when he decided reading it might actually be helpful. He opened up to a page entitled the properties of love under which there were four lines.
The properties of Love
A doorway to the mind
A ticket to the soul
Pure deep love will sometimes result in a telepathic connection. One often experiences it before the other.
That was all the chapter said and it made Harry wonder. Will anyone ever love me like that? Maybe I don't want anyone to love me like that, everyone I love dies. Why can't I be happy, in love, or even just with someone? It is as if the fates are conspiring against me, happiness why would Harry Potter need happiness? The bitter words echoed in Harry's head. I want to feel complete, I have had it three times in my life, and each time it has been ripped away before I can even appreciate it. I just want happiness is that to fucking much to ask. Just give me happiness that will stay, for awhile at least. Harry did not know who he was talking to nor did he care. He wiped a tear before it could inflict pain on the book. He stayed there silent and pensive for awhile. Then a cool wind whipped out of nowhere. Harry wrapped his cloak around his shoulders and hurriedly gathered his things. He stopped to look once more at the blazing ball of light descending to its early winter death. Then he turned his back to its warm rays and walked inside.
*~*~*~*~*
Draco Malfoy looked up in time to see Harry go inside. Whatever the other Slytherins were doing didn't matter anymore, all he could feel was a hollow space inside, the space Harry always filled when he was around. I love you, Harry; I will be the one to stay, forever. Draco knew that Harry couldn't hear the thoughts, yet. He knew that connection only worked if both were in love. He knew that this love would mean losing Slytherin, but he also knew this love meant more to him then anything else. With that Draco too headed indoors stopping to gaze at the circlet of blazing glory gently lowering into the hills, but unlike Harry, Draco knew it would return.
