Author's Note:
I wrote this after reading Decision by Ayla Pascal, I hope you don't mind that I used you for insparation, but I did. And I would like to thank Draya, who gave her opinion as to whom should do the betraying, and then was shocked with what I had written. Don't you just love the creative immagination?

Betrayal

Walking. It is something yo do to calm yourself when you're not walking to go somewhere. You walk alone in the wilderness with only your won thoughts to keep you company.

Right now you're walking because of one thought: Betrayal.

The sun is down, the moon is full, and one star is haunting you.

You walk faster, but it stays directly above you, asking you: Why? Why did you betray me?

It's the star they named after he died; the one they named after him. Every Muggle and wizard know about it, now that ever Muggle knows about the Man-Who-Saved-The-World.

And why did you betray him? Why did you join the Dark Lord's side?

Your world of betrayal and lies started when Harry became a Hogwarts Champion, remember? You hated him for it. After all, you're the one who wanted to be Champion, you're the one who wanted the thousand-Galleon prize money. Not Harry.

Your first thought about changing sides was that first night of the Dark Lord's re-birth, that first night You-Know-Who came back to life.

You wondered how such a thing was possible. Harry destroyed him at only a year old, causing him to take ten years to recuperate. Then, Harry defeated him again, didn't he? So how did Voldemort do it? Did he have more power than Harry?

It was the power you wanted, wasn't it? The power Harry was rumored to have, the power to make you rich, to come out of the shadows of others.

Was that why you threatened the Sorting Hat? Was that the reason you demanded to be put into Gryffindor?

"No."

What was that? Were you trying to tell me no? Don't be ridiculous, you can't tell me no anymore than you can ignore the call of power.

You are a silly one, I'll give you that much, but do not tell me "no" again. The silence would drive you insane.

Let's answer those questions now, shall we? The first of which being: Why did you threaten the Sorting Hat?

For years you craved to be in Slytherin. And why not? Everyone in your family had been a Gryffindor. Every family has a "Black Sheep". Every family has the One-Who-Does-Not-Belong.

It was because of Harry you Betrayed the Hat. It was because Harry was all-powerful and you wanted that power. You wanted the power to defeat the Dark Lord because you knew that power could get you everything you wanted.

And what was it that you wanted? You were the family shadow, living your life in your desires, waiting to reach adulthood before you could act upon them. You wanted to "live in the light", right? I know I am.

I know you inside and out, boy, there is nothing you can hide from me.

And now for our third question. Why did you want Gryffindor after all this time wanting Slytherin?

Isn't that an easy question. Harry, who had been sorted into Gryffindor was where you wanted to be. Harry was the reason for your first act of betrayal, and at the time, Harry was all-powerful and the Dark Lord wasn't coming back. Need I remind you how much you wanted power?

"No."

Ahh, "no" again, eh? Hmm.... Well, I suppose I did ask you a question.

Do you remember how you felt before you came out to them about being a Death Eater? Do you remember how terrified you were? They could have killed you, the Ministry did make the Unforgivable Curses legal to use against any Death Eater and/or Voldemort.

They didn't kill you though, did they? No, you killed them.

Yes, you killed your father first, the Muggle-loving fool. Then your mother. You then Apparated to each brother in turn, killing them. When it came to your sister, she showed you her Dark Mark and you spared her only so she could be killed by Harry.

You were going to kill Hermione then too, but Harry was there, so you acted "normal", whatever that means.

And what is that "normal"? Your "normal" is a lie. It's the part of you that everyone believes to be Gryffindor. When the world learned of your families murders, they tried desperately to console you. All you had to do was act like the grieving child and brother. Pretending to cry when in reality laughing. How sick are you?

"Stop it."

Would you quit talking to yourself? Like I said, you can't hide, you don't have secrets, and if I leave, the silence will drive you mad far faster than a Dementor ever could.

No for the question the world is dying to know. Why. Did. You. Betray. Harry. Potter?

He was your best friend, was he not? Let's go back to when you heard Harry say: "he's back. He's back. Voldemort."

If Harry were as powerful as you had believed, how could those words be true? But they had to be true. Harry Potter didn't lie; unless he'd been lying from the moment you met him.

Running now are we? What are you running from, boy? You cant get away from me, so stop running. Or are you perhaps running from that star up there?

It's still haunting you. It's still up there, asking you why. Perhaps it is time you answer the question for yourself. Go on, tell the world, and that star, why you betrayed Harry Potter.

"No!"

No again. No, no, no and no! Ha! You are a funny one Weasley. You do know that talking to yourself is the first sign of insanity?

"Stop it, stop it, STOP IT!"

Tell them.

"No!"

Tell them.

"Stop it."

Tell them.

"Fuck you!"

TELL THEM!

"FINE!"

Good boy.

"I hated him. Every night I wanted to kill the orphan. I wanted him dead, gone, a memory. I tried to get him killed in hopes that I may get his power. I tried to get him killed playing chess. I tried to shove him into the cave-in. I tried to mislead him, to force him into a trap, but nooo, he had too much fucking power! He was Harry Potter for Christ's sake, I couldn't kill him! So I did the next best thing, I betrayed him!

"But the bastard wouldn't die without a fight, and he killed my Master as well! I did have a final word with him, as his life slipped away. Hermione heard it too, the stupid Mudblood, so I killed her too. Can't have anyone blabbing my secret can we? I told him he was dying because I told the Dark Lord where he'd be, when he'd be there. I am ultimately responsible for the death of Harry Potter! I killed everyone, and you couldn't stop me!

"Do you remember? Do you, you stupid voice? You tried to stop me, to talk me out of it. You said you'd leave me, but you didn't, and I killed them anyway! All of them! HA!

"Ha ha ha ha ha! I fucking hate you Harry Potter! Do you hear me?! I fucking hate you!"

The Minister folded his hands on the desk in front of him. Here was Mr. Weasley's confession, witnessed by everyone. The man had confessed to murdering his parents and brothers, as well as Mrs. Potter.

He has also confessed to being a spy.

"Guilty," he said hoarsely to the congregation. "Of all charges. Mr. Weasley shall be locked in Azkaban until we decide if he should die. Or worse. Any objections?"

No one raised a hand, no one spoke, some even held their breath.

The Minister cleared his throat. "Take him away," he said to the guards.

Two wizards dressed in gray robes stepped forward and pulled the drooling red-haired wizard from the chained chair and dragged him to the open door. Poor man had to be drugged just to enter the court room.

His heads lulled to the side as his eyes began to become focused.

A third gray-clad wizard came up behind the last Weasley and jabbed a needle into the side of his neck. After injecting the drug that made Weasley hallucinate and talk as though under Veritaserum, the man walked away. Mr. Weasley would be lost in his own delusions for the next twelve hours or so, if they were lucky.

The three men stepped into the enormous fireplace. One of them dropped a bit of Floo Powder and shouted "Azkaban Prison!"

Seconds later, Mr. Ronald Weasley was murdered by a vengeful prison guard.
