- Author's Note:
- I know, I know. It's been over a year since I've even thought about doing another chapter for this story. I decided to finish this story and then make a novel length fic sequel. My goal for right now though, is to just finish this fic, then go on. I'm also trying to finish up all of my fics before I start anymore. So look for new stuff each week because I'm writing like crazy!! Anyway, hope you enjoy this as much as I loved writing it. Please review too!
Hermione searched everywhere. She looked in the library, the Great Hall, and she found nothing. She even looked in that special corner of theirs. She was ready to burst into tears. Her one opportunity was gone. If she couldn't find him now, she knew that she wouldn't be able to do it later. She just didn't have the motivation. Her heart was crushed. She sat down in her corner, leaned her head up against the wall, and the tears started to stream down her face. She looked up into the blackness. She began to feel anger and disgust.
"How could he do this to me," she wept to herself. "All I ever did was love him and this is how he repays me. I'm not good enough for him. That bastard. I have half a mind to go and tell him how I feel."
Hermione stood up. She wiped the tears from her eyes with her sleeve and began to go to the Great Hall. Then she remembered. She already tried to look for him and couldn't find him. That was the reason she was the way she was.
"I just can't do this anymore." Hermione was crying her heart out as she made her way to the Gryffindor common room. If only she would've stayed just a minute longer, she would've found what she was looking for.

Draco ran up and down the halls of Hogwarts searching every classroom; he found nothing. He searched the library, Great Hall, even the Room of Requirement, and still, nothing. The last place he decided to look for her was at his corner. He went up there and again, found nothing. Draco kicked the wall in frustration and sat down. He wanted to scream, but new that he couldn't. He leaned his head against the wall and stared into blackness.
"Here I am, once again, seeking advice, but knowing it will never come to me. How can I be so stupid?" Draco shook his head. His emotions were bottled up inside and the cork was about to pop off. Draco blew his one and only chance with her. He was ashamed of himself.
"At least he won't hurt her," Draco said aloud. He got up and sulked back to the Slytherin common room. If only he would have moved his hand over an inch, he would've found a diary that somebody previously left there and would change everything.

Hermione did not want to go to any classes today. She didn't even want to get out of bed. She forced herself to a sitting position, rubbed her eyes and began to change. It took her longer than usual, but she didn't care. She slowly made her way down to the Great Hall for breakfast, not bothering to make her bed.
"What's wrong Hermione?" asked Ron, sounding very concerned.
"Oh, it's nothing, don't worry about."
"How come your eyes are all puffy and red," Harry pointed out.
"Not to mention we were down her before you were," stated a shocked Ron.
"I'm fine OK. Will you two just please stop making a fuss over me?" Hermione scowled and went back to eating her breakfast in complete silence. Ron and Harry didn't bother her about anything for the rest of the day. They didn't even question her when she went out of the common room for a few hours after supper that night.
***
Draco hated today. He wished he could just go back to bed and dream his life away. It was a good idea to him, but he knew he had to get out of bed and go to class.
"Of all days to have Potions with Gryffindors," Draco mumbled to himself. He got ready for school, like normal, and decided to himself that he should act like there was nothing wrong, like he normally did. He was very good at it too.
He went downstairs to be greeted by his fellow classmates at the Slytherin table. He acted normal, made fun of tons of people, bragged about himself, and ate breakfast. He wanted to take a glance over at the Gryffindor table, but he knew it would be a great risk, so never once did he see Hermione as depressed as she was during breakfast.
***
Potions came very fast that day. As Draco sat down, he avoided even looking at anybody else except his supposed friends. He sat in his seat. He glanced away for just a second and saw bushy hair. His heart started to race, his mind started to race and his eyes widened.
"What's wrong?" somebody asked him.
"Ah," Draco started, "nothing," he finished.
"Well, you look all weird," the person responded.
"I'm fine, there's nothing wrong, and don't say I look weird, I look handsome," he said quickly and he smoothed his hair back with his hands.
"Whatever," the person rolled their eyes, "Anyway..." the person continued. But Draco was listening. Thoughts came back to him that he wished he could forget. He was completely inside of his mind when Snape came in and ordered every one to be quiet. Draco shook his thoughts away and began to listen to Snape very hard. He didn't want to go back inside his mind.
Within the first few minutes of class, Draco noticed that he couldn't see part of what Snape was doing because somebody's bushy hair was in the way. Again, his eyes widened, heart raced, mouth few slightly ajar, as he realized who it was.
"Just relax," he told himself. "Act normal and just pay attention to Snape." But Draco just couldn't do it. It seemed like five hours when the class finally got over, because all Draco could do was stare at the back of Hermione's head. He knew he was screwed, because he didn't know the assignment, but he didn't care. He just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible.
"Hey Draco! Wait up!" called one of his classmates. Draco was forced to wait. He walked with that person out of the classroom and straight to the Great Hall.
***
Hermione was devastated. She had seen Draco today and all she could do was hold back tears. She couldn't even focus on any of her classes. Potions seemed like it dragged on and on that day, just because all she could do was stare straight ahead. She didn't even hear any questions that Snape asked. Snape never saw her raise her hand once the whole entire class, which was usually expected. Still, Hermione just sat there the whole time. She didn't even hear what the assignment was. Some one had to tell her that class was over before she realized it. Today was truly a depressing day for Hermione Granger.
When Hermione sat down at the Gryffindor table, in the Great Hall, Hermione was questioned by a couple of people. Harry and Ron quickly defended her and told them to go away. Hermione just smiled at them and looked at her plate. Harry and Ron glanced at each other with concern, but they knew that they shouldn't say anything, and give her space.
When Harry and Ron were done eating, because Hermione didn't eat anything, all three of them went up to the Gryffindor common room. Hermione wanted to concentrate on something else, so she tried doing some homework, but that couldn't even occupy her mind. She told Harry and Ron that she was leaving for a while, and she left to go find her dark, cold corner.
***
Draco barely ate anything. He didn't feel like eating much. He still acted like his normal self, but deep down inside, he felt like screaming. After he was done eating he left his friends to go find his dark, cold corner.
***
As Draco reached his corner, he didn't even realize it. He was shocked to even find himself approaching it. He sighed and sat down. He leaned up against the wall, put his knees to his chest, crossed his arms on top of his knees, and put his head in his lap. He didn't hear footsteps approaching.
***
Hermione took her time as she was reaching her corner. She didn't exactly want to reach her destination. She felt like walking forever in loneliness. She couldn't even cry anymore, she was so depressed. When she finally reached her corner she stopped short. She could hardly breathe. "Oh my gosh," she whispered before she fainted onto the floor. Draco looked up from where he was sitting and then quickly stood up. He ran towards Hermione and tried to wake her.
"Hermione," he said nervously while tapping her face. "Hermione," he said louder. Draco picked up Hermione's head and put it into his lap while continuing to tap her face. "Oh Hermione, please wake up," he said with concern. Within five minutes Draco had small tears form in the corners of his eyes as he started to give up on Hermione ever waking up.
Author notes: I might do 1-2 more chapters, one for sure. I hope you all liked it and sorry for jumping back and for so often, I promise the next one won't jump back and forth, at least not so much, since they will be together. Let me know what you think. I didn't do another chapter for nothing, so feedback is good!!!
