Susan ran as fast as her legs could carry her all the way up to the Gryffindor tower. "Toe jam," she mumbled as the portrait hole opened up to the common room. The very person she wanted to see was sitting next to the fire by two empty seats with her nose stuck in a book (as usual). The best part was that everyone else had gone to bed already.

"Hullo Hermione," said Susan cheerfully as she sat in one of the two empty seats.

"Did you need something, Bones" Hermione replied, "because I figured you wouldn't be satisfied enough with having ONLY Ron in your clutches now." Hermione said this without looking up from her Muggle Studies book, a sour countenance plastered about her face.

"Oh, Hermione, it's nothing like that," Susan began, almost frantically, "I didn't want to do anything to make you hate me. I've always wanted to be your friend. That's why when Ron told me to meet him I had a perfect speech prepared, telling him why I couldn't date him if he asked me out. However, something else happened that I need to tell you about."

"If he kissed you I don't want to hear..." began Hermione, setting her book down abruptly and crossing her arms impatiently.

"Please, Hermione," Susan butted in, "give me just 5 uninterrupted minutes of your time, and if you think what I have to say is rubbish, you can go on hating me with my blessing."

Hermione shifted in her seat and blew a piece of stray hair out of her face. "Fine," she replied, "as long as I can still hate you silently as you speak."

"It's only fair, I guess," said Susan, suppressing a smile. "Well when I got down there, Ron did kiss me...but wait, that's not important in the scheme of things. He told me to close my eyes and I got another kiss...but when I opened my eyes I was staring into Harry's eyes! They began to explain to me that they are...well...bisexual and asked me to be their girlfriend. I agreed, but I felt it would be awkward in public for obvious reasons. They suggested that I pretend to be dating one of them in public, but I felt that this was all unfair." She paused for a moment and proceeded with caution, "and now for the reason I'm telling you all this. I was wondering if...um...er...you would like to be a part of our relationship."

After Susan finished talking, Hermione just sat there perplexed, and after about 3 minutes of complete silence she said, "you mean, date all of you?!"

"Well, yes," Susan replied, "but if you feel odd being with a girl, you don't have to do anything with me. However..."

"What?" said Hermione, almost sounding threatened. "Do you think we should kiss?"

"Well, I didn't just pick you to ask to join us just because you liked Ron," Susan mumbled. "I personally think you are the most gorgeous girl in the school. I know I wouldn't mind kissing you. We could even practice before we meet up with Ron and Harry so that we aren't totally shocked by it. Plus, Ron and Harry might like that a lot. I mean, that is, if you want to and all..."

"Umm..." started Hermione, "well, IF I were to kiss you, that is to say if I decided to become a part of this 'item', when would we...er...practice?"

Susan got up and walked to Hermione She bent down to Hermione's eye level, and stroking her cheek, looking deep into her eyes, she replied, "well, I'd say now is as good a time as any."

Hermione looked back into Susan's eyes, almost entranced by the raw passion she saw in them. She tried to speak, but for some reason decided to reply unpredictably. She pulled herself out of her chair, looping her arms around Susan's waist, and made firm contact with Susan's lips. Susan stood wide-eyed for a few seconds, but after the shock wore off, she sunk into the taste of this pure bliss. Hermione kissed like no other person Susan had ever laid lips on. She varied her pressure of her tepid lips, opening her mouth once in a while to let her tongue explore the foreign mouth connected to hers. When they aversely pulled away, they stood embracing one another; more to keep their balance than anything.

Hermione nuzzled Susan's cheek with her own and whispered gently into Susan's ear, "okay, I'll do it. Oh, and I definitely do NOT hate you anymore."
