Ch 2 Flashback to Sahara Black's Past

*Flashback*

It was a bright afternoon as the young Sahara Black walked out onto the grounds. She was perfectly happy until she saw the crowd gathered around a pale-faced boy. In front of him were two boys being as cruel as can be. Sitting besides them were two other boys. All four of them were best friends. The two that were standing were James Potter and Sahara Black's brother Sirius Black and the two sitting were Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew. Lily Evans was hanging around Potter like always. Apparently she tried to stop the problem.

"What do you think you are doing?" Sahara yelled as she stormed over to them.

"How mean can you be in one day." She said remembering the events that took place during one of their classes.

"And you two," Sahara said turning to Remus and Peter, well not so much Peter, she didn't like him much. He always trailed behind them, cowering really.

The crowed began to thin until there were only seven people there. Sahara, Lily, James, Sirius, Remus, Peter and the pale-faced boy they were tormenting, Severus Snape.

"Gee kiddo," said James "don't go all psychotic on us.

"You know what James!" yelled Sahara "Why the hell are you so brazen? Can't you...you, oh just go away right now. Just go!"

"Say, Chill." said Sirius.

James knew better than to argue with Sahara.

"Kay, Say," said James, "I'm going to take a walk and chill. Let's go Lil. Ha Ha, I'm a poet and don't" James stopped abruptly when he noticed that Sahara was giving him a death glare. "Alright I'll go. Stop looking at me like that." said James as he left.

"Sis, come on its call fun and games." Sirius said.

However Sirius couldn't get away with a lot from his sister. She chided him badly when she thinks he has done something wrong.

Slowly Sirius walked away and by that time Peter slinked off as well. He was also deathly afraid of Sahara, like most. When she was mad her eyes turned a flaming red. She would yell and weird magical things would happen.

Remus was left sitting against a tree with a book in his hand.

"Oh Remus, why would you let such a thing happen?"

"Say, calm down. No one likes him. What harm will be caused? You really need to relax once in awhile."

"Well I don't want to and to the point that no one really likes, well to the hell with that.

Give Severus a chance. Isn't there anything better for you to do then to antagonize him? You could study, practice magic or go flying. Either be his friend or leave him alone. Please?"

She turned to face Remus. They looked into one another's eyes. He was a few months older than her and had been friends since their first year of Hogwarts. Well at least Sirius and Remus had been friends. Sahara didn't quit take to Remus until their third year at Hogwarts. Ever since then they were really good friends. They studied together, they did their homework together, and they went Hogsmeade together. The rest of his time was spent with Sirius and the others. On some nights, when the moon was not full, Remus would surprise Sahara with a long walk out by the lake.

Sahara nodded to Remus, which meant he could go without being scolded. Remus was one of the few who could get away with out being scolded by Sahara.

Sahara went over to help Severus pick up his things.

"I don't want nor do I need you help." Severus sneered.

She didn't care, she picked up his things. She put her hand on his and said "Don't worry about them so much. They are jerks but there is nothing you can do about it, now is there? You ok?"

"Leave me alone. Why the hell do you try to be miss goody two shoes?"

"What the hell is your problem? I'm trying to help you and no matter what you say or do I will help you because you don't deserve to be treated like that."

"Get off yourself and leave me alone. Why don't you go and play with your boyfriend? Oh better yet go be goggled eyed at Professor Thorne. I'm shore he would like you to help him with something"

With that Sahara snapped. Professor Thorne was a magnificent teacher but cruel to most people however Sahara was really good friends with him.

"Why don't you go...go to hell? You are just like all the other men in this world, a selfish prick. Get off your fucking high horse you good for nothing twit."

With that she slapped him and turned around to go and find Remus.

Sahara knew she could tell Remus anything. No matter what it was he would never tell a soul. If she would have told Sirius or James what happened they would have made Severus' life a living hell. Worse than what it was now and no matter what he did she didn't want that to happen. So she went off to find comfort in Remus.

Remus was by the lake. Lying on his back looking at the sky. He looked up when she approached and instantly knew something was wrong.

"What's wrong Say?" he asked

She laid down beside him with his arm under her head and her arm over his chest. She cuddled up to him. Something she has never done before.

"Oh Remus!" She cried.

She then began to tell him about her encounter with Snape.

"Remus he needs friends and with you guys tormenting him, well, that's not doing any good. Now is it?"

"I know Say, but when James and your brother get all macho, you know what happens."

"Yeah, I just don't think...his family though they...he gets that at home and he doesn't need it at school."

"Now is the time to change the subject, right Say?"

"If you want"

"Good, uh...full moon this weekend. You gonna come visit? There is not any tests so you could you know."

Remus is a werewolf and all his friends could turn into an animal even Sahara. Her animagus form was what ever she felt like. Not many people could turn into any animal they wanted to.

"I don't know Remus. I mean after what you let happen today...I might"

"Really?"

"Yes"

Remus held her close and they looked at the stars for a while. On some nights they would stay out so late they would fall asleep and Sirius and James had to come out looking for them. To night was like all other nights. Or so Sahara and Remus thought.

They herd footsteps, thinking it was getting really late but when they got up and looked around no one was there.

"That's strange." Said Remus as he put his arm around Sahara's shoulder.

"Come on lets go in"

"Alright Remus"

As they walked, Sahara got the feeling they were being followed. When they were almost up to the school Severus Snape jumped out at them. Remus flipped out. Many words were said that should not have been.

Remus grabbed Sahara by the arm and they walked up to the castle not saying a word. The argument between Remus and Severus was never mentioned again. No one discussed it and no one hinted about it.
