Chapter One: Rebecca's letter

Rebecca Night woke up to the usual sound of her older sister complaining about the fact that she was the only girl in the whole school that didn't have a car. Rebecca grumbled and shook her mane of gold curls from her face. She stumbled to the bath room. Rebecca and her sister were not exactly the best of friends. Rebecca was very happy that she and her sister were going to go to different schools. Rebecca was going to go to Stonewall High. Her sister, Annie, was a student at Smeltings. She was five years older than Rebecca, and at the age of sixteen, she was, to put it nicely, a living Hell. She always complained, and fussed over clothes. She and her friends dressed like sluts, and even altered their uniforms to make them look "more attractive." Annie had strait short brown hair and blue eyes. Although, her sister put black highlights in her hair, and put purple contacts to make her look dangerous. Rebecca on the other hand had sparkling blue eyes and long honey colored tresses. Her father was dead, and her mother was only home in the mornings. After her shower, Rebecca walked in to the kitchen. She smiled at her sister, who glared at her and said,

"You are such a geek." Rebecca was used to this so she just waited for her toast to finish. Her mother smiled at her youngest. She loved Rebecca more than anything. Her mother sighed and turned to the oatmeal while saying,

"Becca dear, would you please get the mail? I think I heard it come through the slot." Ordinarily Mrs. Night would have asked Annie, but lately Annie refused. Ever since the three Americans had moved, Annie had become more and more sullen. Rebecca smiled at her mother and went down the hall. On the landing there were three letters for her sister, a bill, and believe it or not a letter addressed to her! It was of a yellowish thick paper and it had green ink on the front that said Miss Rebecca Night

The Nicest Bedroom

#2 Privet Drive

Little Whinging, Surrey

It had a seal on the back with a lion, badger, raven, and snake all together. She walked into the kitchen again, and handed her mother the bills. As she unfolded the letter and read the first words she gave a grand shriek. "MOM! MOM! YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS! I'M A WITCH! YOU SEE?" her mother was shocked (to put it lightly). Her daughter was a witch! She picked up the letter and started reading. It said,

Dear Miss. Night,

We are please to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As you are a muggle, I will explain more thoroughly. You are to go to the Leaky Cauldron, which is on Vulapix Road. Ask for Tom. He will show you how to get to Diagon Alley, where you will buy your school supplies. Also note that before you go to any shops, you must go to Gringotts Bank. You will be able to exchange your muggle money for wizard currency. I would advise you to keep this within your family. Your ticket is enclosed. Term starts September 1st. We await your owl no later than June 31st.

Yours Sincerely,

Professor M. McGonagall

Deputy Headmistress

Rebecca's mother smiled. Her daughter would be able to do good for the world with this magic! But, she must keep it secret. Rebecca on the other hand was doing much more than smiling. Her toast was forgotten, as she danced around the room. Annie was now buttering up to Rebecca while thinking I can get her to do whatever I want. She could even cast a love spell on someone that I want to fall madly in love with me! Little did Annie know that this occurrence would make Rebecca more free spirited than before.

A.N. Well??? Do you like so far??? Next chapter will be Rebecca going to Diagon Alley.
